Noel leaned against the shelf. "Uh, I dunno, I don't read a whole lot..." he muttered uncertainly, not wanting to offend the girl. "But hey, no problem!"
"I've lived a lot of places, but I won't really call it 'traveling,'" he replied. "I've gone to a lot of questionable schools," Noel added with a small chuckle. "As for lunch, yeah, a lot of kids go out and eat in the courtyard and stuff--there's some nice trees out for shade and everything. That's where I eat."
"Ugh, Calc II," Noel groaned sympathetically. "I'm sorry. But the science stuff is pretty weird, like, I think you and I will have Bio in the same class but that'll be the second half--we'll have gone to our first half..." he trailed off. "Uh, that was probably confusing. But I think we go from our first to our second during the same period but in different classrooms? Hmm. Not totally sure."
"Fencing is the best," he inserted. "Not gonna lie, I think I'm pretty good at it myself. I'm sure you'll love it." He couldn't help smirk a bit at her unrestrained enthusiasm. Vanille sure liked to talk. "I, er, guess I could give you a few pointers?"
And we're back to this topic, Noel thought, wondering how many times it had come up recently. "Well, I went to a different school--it was kinda small and pretty ghetto in general... Wait whoa, slow down," Noel interjected, not being able to keep up with Vanille. "You had a whole forest near your house? Where did you live? Not near a city?"Â
Quirking a brow at her moment of hesitation before she continued, Noel wondered what else she had to say about her past. "The last place I lived? Tiny little town, hardly anyone nearby. Random suburban area, I guess," he shrugged. "Didn't care much for it, to be honest."
