Renee B’nei has got to be my favorite original female character that I have came up with. I created her for a festival in 2006 and I love the design so much that I kept her around. Don’t really have a backstory for her. She’s just a rocker bunny idol. You can see her evolution over the years up until the latest one where I put a lot more detail and bunny features to her. A few things I need to work on is obviously her arms and her hands, and that guitar. I also changed her last name from Bunnee to B’nei. Sounds the same but I stumbled upon that last one By accident. I was 10 in 89.  Before the Poke-land, Poke-Sea, and Poke-Air were created.  Before the Poke-Grass, and Poke-Water.  Before the pokemon were even a thought, there was poke-nothing but I.  But screw it, Super Mario Bros. 3 came out in Japan in 1988 so I’m from the land of the freak’n giants.

Meanwhile, I bet this new show gets almost as much coverage as TTG and they’ll say that it’s so much bigger of a success than the last version.

For whatever reason CN seems to HAAAAAAATE anything narrative driven or even the least bit dramatic.

Thundercats, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Regular Show; the moment every single one of these stopped being silly adventure-of-the-week shows, CN stopped caring.

Thundercats just vanished without fanfare, Adventure Time and Regular Show could NOT be dropped fast enough, it seems, and between the constant leaks, wonky scheduling, and constant hiatuses, CN seems to be trying its damnedest to kill SU.

I really think the corporate heads of CN are still trying to case their own “Spongebob Squarepants”; a show filled with mindless tat with no substance that can be pumped out for cheap and run forever.

Someone really needs to tell these guys that the horse their beating is not only completely dead; it’s bones are now just a pile of dust.

TTG must have made them money. They would not have done the non-sense with 24/7 TTG for so long if it hadn’t worked out for them somehow. Despite all the outrage there must still be a large enough audience. (Toddlers parked in front the telly by their parents?)

And as long as the cheap, low-effort, loopable tat fills their pockets, they will continue not caring about the narrative driven shows

are we really being fair to the show when the only real footage we’ve been shown is a production teaser?  The art style isnt great, and yes, TTG is a terrible trend writing wise.  But to be devils advocate, this style, while being simplistic and cheap in still ashetic, has been shown through sequences in other shows put under the “CalArts” vent can be very interesting in motion, ie, Steven, Star Vs, and the show people are comparing this to, OK KO.  As well, if this show is gonna be like OK KO in terms of show structure, rather than TTG, it could have a lot of potential for comedic/action.  OK KO is really a tounge and cheek deconstruction on many old video game and 80s action cartoon trends, while retaining the action and kaboomy explosions we *like* about said trends.  If Roar is just gonna be a more pin pointed deconstruction, ie for just thundercats, and possibly the shows that aired around the same time, it could be atleast enjoyable. There are ways to do this right, and OK KO and TTG are on different ends of the spectrum of doing it right or wrong respectively
