i will never get over the dongos in totk being just vending maschines that appeared senselessly out of nowhere, id rather not see the animal from the trailer than have their only purpose be lead you on with a 'mysterious creature' quest for several stables and then they do nothign but sit around eating glowstones to shit out jewels supposedly living in tropical environments when that makes no sense on account of that kind of area being rather small, you having never seen one ever, there being no new area that fits that and it being utterly contradictory to their design and apparent feeding habits ... you couldnt even make them originate from caves? not even the bare minimum of thought put into it??

This is back on my dash! And listen, I love to see Amir Khusrau getting appreciation, but this translation ignores a lot. The original rhymes! And scans! And does playful things with register! And conveys a tone of affectionate banter between the two speakers, not least because it has them both addressing each other as sakhi (translated above as “girl”) in the last two lines. I think taking some liberties with line order is worth it to preserve more of the rest—and I think there’s a better translation of sakhi. And so:

Maybe I should sit down and actually finish the Asriel and Dess project instead of posting another update but, uh, I didn't expect Silksong to take this much of my free time in September, and then I realised I hadn't posted in like three weeks. I even forgot it was the UT 10th Anniversary this month until I saw the livestream announcement. Oops.

It's also being really hard to resist the pull to draw Silksong fanart. I have some ideas... I'll see.

I thought I should post another sneak peek of the Asriel and Dess project I'm working on (first post here), because I'm quite probably going to disappear for a couple of days. You see, a new indie game has come out today, it's kinda niche, you probably haven't heard about it, and I'm going to be playing it a lot. A lot a lot.

No but really, Undertale and Hollow Knight are my two favourite games ever, and the fact we've got "sequels" to both of them just 3 months apart is wild. I'm having the best summer ever haha
