You have any tips for drawing arms? I've really been struggling lately.

Oh gee! Arms are a pain I’ll tell you. It honestly depends from the style you’re going for? A fun exercise to do is to grab a page full of pics of arms and trace them, just sketch over them, don’t worry about the product looking good for it is just for practice purposes. Depending on your case you can either:

- Just trace the shapes as they are

- Trace them but in your artstyle

This is an example from something I made a few days ago, wanted to check out how the artstyle would look like with 5 fingers but it seems to resemble… another well-known artstyle SO I think I’ll stay on the usual 4 fingers for now. But it still was good practice

However! We’re talking about arms here, so what I’m suggesting to do is this simple exercise but with arms. You can do this with all body parts, bodies, animals, objects… about everything! But use photos instead of art because all art can be imperfect despite the great looks

I just want to point out that in the podcast they discussed one of the rules in the show bible being that Garnet can’t ask questions. The writers are not allowed to write garnet asking a question ever. The explanation was that they do this in order to keep her sounding decisive, which makes sense in keeping with her future vision and confident attitude. I literally have not thought about this scene since the episode aired and now I’m screaming because listen

Is this a cute nod to their writing strategy? OR is their decision to make this characterization rule alluding to a much much darker thing that they haven’t been telling us?
