i’ve recently acquired a new special interest, building computers, an i’ve watched a good few youtube tutorial videos on different builds (mostly gaming rigs, some photography + video editing builds) an it’s so neat !!! i’m learning alot about different parts n what they do n what’s better fr this use or that use, it’s exciting !!!

except the benchmarking portions,,, since it’s mostly gamers showing how 2 build ur own custom pc, they mostly just use boring fps games that i (A) have never heard of (B) will never play and (3) don’t care about at all. 

the fps benchmarks don’t tell me anything at all about the power or speed of the computer they r showing, it is nothing 2 me, literally nothing. fr all i know they could b using gameplay footage from a commercial or trailer fr that game, like fuck if i kno

fr once i’d like 2c something i CAN understand, like taking a folder w/ 20gb of pictures in it, copy it onto the desktop then move the original into the trash bin. c how long that takes. then open up skyrim in highest settings in dragonsreach save then use console commands 2 spawn increasingly ridiculous qualities of sweetrolls (start w/ 100, let them all spawn in, load the save, spawn 500, reload, and so on until u crash it), then reload the save an do the same thing w/ increasingly ridiculous quantities of dragons (starting at 10, then 30, 50, 70, 100 an so on) but u gotta let the dragons hangout fr a few minutes while u throw continuous fire n lightning spells at them before moving on 

like, that’s some benchmarking i can actually understand, why don’t they do things like that?

by the way miss michi just caught a mice in my room! she’s very talented at that and i’m v proud of her~

she has no killer instincts or w/e tho, she just wants 2 catch them then hold them in her mouth walking around showing it off an meow-shouting  ‘LoOK! LOOK WHAT I CAUGHT!!! I CAUGHT A THING!!!’ 

and then she will let it go after a few minutes, an try 2 catch it again (or she’ll try her best 2 immediately bring it over 2 me n drop it ‘i got this for u’), rinse and repeat until they get away from her or i step in w/ some plastic cups an put the mice outside (while telling michi how proud i am of her n how much i love her an how she’s so talented an good and so on)

nvm what i said yesterday about probably being able 2 connect my piano keyboard thing 2 my computer w/ just an aux cord

i just wrestled it out of it’s box in my closet n discovered the headphone / output port is a non standard size

it literally says absolutely nothing at all about that in the 70 page owners manual, but it absolutely is way 2 big 2 plug in regular headphones :/    i tried 2 google what size port it is or w/e but there’s no answers :/

whatever i’m just gunna get a cheap audio recorder thing instead of fussing around w/ all that

anyway aside from that i ben doing ok,,, well i mean, my health is been doing some garbage fr a few months,,, but i got into a few new things that i like so that’s fun~ one of the things i got into actually has sent me on a ‘domino effect’ type path where i: 

wanted 2 draw a character from the thing but couldn’t rlly figure out their face or haircut so i decided 2 make them in skyrim for reference 

 then i started actually having fun playing again

an remembered moding was a thing (n a big part of why i got this game) an that i’m still v interested in learning about it

started looking into how 2 do things like replacing voice line sound files bc i hate something a certain character says but there r still no mods that fix it yet

realized if i could replace voice audio, then i could replace other sound effects, an i could make the dragons stop sounding like elephants, bc it’s always been super immersion breaking n disappointing fr me (literally The FIRST Dragon u meet in the VERY BEGINNING of the game, sounds like just a elephant, w/ like 2 effects lazily added maybe,,, some of the sounds r ok but fr the most part like, i’m sorry alduin i kno ur supposed 2b The Most Powerful Dragon In Existence or w/e but, in ur heart of hearts, ur just a elephant that looks like a dragon :/ )

i started messing around w/ editing / enhancing some of those (extremely elephant sounding) dragon sounds an was p happy w/ what i could get just messing w/ the dragon sounds themselves, not even adding other sounds in~ (i also accidentally saved wrong n lost like 2 hours of work on that bc i was sleepy) 

started thinking abt what kinda sounds i could make just using my mp3 players microphone 2 record myself n other sounds (but i haven’t seen my mp3 player in months so it doesn’t rlly matter rn,,,)

thought abt where else i could get sounds from an realized that i still have my electric piano keyboard thing and i could probably connect it 2 my computer an make music w/ it like i always wanted (like that’s the whole reason i got it in the first place)

so i looked into it n found out it’s possible 2 do that w/ just an aux cord + audacity (a free sound editing software i’ve had fr a couple months)

it’s all a lotta stuff 2b excited about all at once an it’s p fun! i’m real excited ~~~

,,,only thing that’d make it better is finding my mp3 player or getting a digital recorder or something so i cn get my own sounds 2 mess with
