Corvin Castle, Hunedoara Romania🇷🇴

Corvin Castle, also known as Hunyadi Castle, is one of the largest and most impressive Gothic castles in Romania. It is located in the city of Hunedoara in the historic region of Transylvania.

The castle was mainly built in the 15th century by John Hunyadi, a powerful noble and military commander who defended Europe against Ottoman expansion. The fortress was designed both as a strong defensive structure and a luxurious noble residence.

Corvin Castle is famous for its Gothic towers, drawbridges, large halls, and legends. One popular story claims that Vlad the Impaler may have once been imprisoned there, although historians debate this.

Over the centuries, the castle suffered fires and damage but was restored in the 19th century. Today, it is one of Romania’s most visited landmarks and is often considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.
