‘I’m done i’m done, i don’t care how you feel’
If you’re committed to somebody, you don’t allow yourself to find perfection in someone else
Nick - Before We Go (2014)
If love leaves, ask her to leave the door open behind her, turn off the music, listen to the quiet, whisper, ‘thank you for stopping by.’
idk if I’ve save this quote before but its my fave so here we go (via stratosphare)
Lua- Bright Eyes
“ I know that it is freezing, but I think we have to walk I keep waving at the taxis, they keep turning their lights off But Julie knows a party at some actor's West side loft Supplies are endless in the evening by the morning they'll be gone When everything is lonely I can be my own best friend I'll get a coffee and the paper, have my own conversations with the sidewalk and the pigeons and my window reflection The mask I polish in the evening by the morning looks like shit And I know you have a heavy heart, I can feel it when we kiss So many men stronger than me have thrown their backs out trying to lift it But me I'm not a gamble, you can count on me to split The love I sell you in the evening by the morning won't exist You're looking skinny like a model with your eyes all painted black Just keep going to the bathroom, always say you'll be right back Well, it takes one to know one, kid, I think you've got it bad But what's so easy in the evening by the morning's such a drag I got a flask inside my pocket, we can share it on the train And if you promise to stay conscious I will try and do the same We might die from medication, but we sure killed all the pain But what was normal in the evening by the morning seems insane And I'm not sure what the trouble was that started all of this The reasons all have run away, but the feeling never did It's not something I would recommend, but it is one way to live Cause what is simple in the moonlight by the morning never is It was so simple in the moonlight now it's so complicated It was so simple in the moonlight, so simple in the moonlight So simple in the moonlight... “
How do we ever move on from all the wrongs of life. From the sorrow and the daily heartache. Words said in jest and in pain. Hierarchies and chaos. The divide between what you love and what keeps you alive; between best an right, between wishlists and to-do lists there is a gulf and while we search for shores in our dingy lifeboats the sun keeps setting.
Struggle
“The struggle is real” he said in jest. they all laughed. Blushing, beaming, burnished in glory He was happy but it hit me just then- The faces on the street- shadows of sorrow and grief unsettled scores, unheard stories A well put together smile. Unpracticed skill Half hearted attempt or unpaid bill Empty wallets or water tanks Lost souls on broken banks Eyes full of dreams and tears And swimming under many fears Feebled by age or suffering Surrounded by a rubble of regrets but still hoping for someone to understand and maybe feel That the struggle is real.
Prayer
Knitting a web of thoughts to hold me back from all the sin To save me from the din within To silence my fears, jitters and screams I live inside my little dreams
It’s hard to get through some of it And hate will come in all its writ Through faith and hope in the unseen We’ll make it through this crazy scene I pray for wisdom and for patience For all the mighty expectations For every want that is more than me For all the things i couldn’t see
I pray for courage to make amends For mistaken foes and generous friends For grassy knolls at every bend For guiding lights at tunnels end
Slow down You’re doin fine You can’t be everything you wanna be before your time Although its so romantic on the borderline tonight, tonight To bad that is the life you lead You’re so ahead of your self that you forget what you need Though you can see when your wrong, you cant always see when your right You got your passion, you got your pride But dont you know that only fools are satisfied Dream on! But dont imagine theyll all come true When will you realize, Vienna waits for you
Relentless
‘The last couple of years have been quite extraordinary’ is a thought i hear myself think often. Sometimes though i feel like i have gotten into the habit of repeating that thought in my head for every year that passes. Whether it is my good fortune that life has presented me with ample opportunities to keep running or because of my selfish desires of biting more than i can chew i know not. All i know is, that somewhere along the line i decided to run. To run fast and not look back. And maybe somewhere along that line i forgot to breathe.
After my undergrad i really felt myself change and grow. I felt making something of myself at work...it was all overwhelming and all too wondrous. I found all these new pieces of myself that were not as green and had started to age with experience. No more the rookie, i started to impress myself through the appreciation of others around me. It sure felt nice- cumbersome on days where i was drowning under the pressure of self-criticism but to come out alive on the other side was fuel enough to keep going. I was no small fish after all. I felt seen and understood. But as things started to settle a bit life pulled me into a new direction. I was barely able to collect all of my pieces before hurriedly running off to the new shiny thing in life. Scampering again...not time to wait or breathe.
It was back to school and this time for the last time for the coveted MBA at one of the finest places in the country. And while praise was abundant for the girl with great expectations...i had my own expectations to live up to. And God how they hit rock bottom very early on.
All of my new found crazy confidence, my experience counted for naught. I learnt that i was riding on the back of experience which was only the tip of the iceberg and that there is no respite for the numerically challenged. And in the blink of an eye...i was green again. Older and none the wiser. The little fish in the biggest pond i ever knew.
Days passed slowly and then way too fast. Through mid terms and reports and late night reflections; Through losing hope and faith and trust in people to finding love and friends in unlikely places. Two years went by in the blink of an eye. Dragging my heels to classes and back again and managing the twenty-something’s troubling life i made it through.
And just as fast i am ready for the next big thing. Perhaps the biggest of them all. A tilt-shift. And i hear myself thinking it again.... “What an extraordinary couple of years..’ every few years. You see life is a relentless pursuit. And i have come to learn that it is good thing that life is that way. We mustn’t stop. We mustn’t know the future, we must find it and unravel ourselves through the process.
We must run at a break-neck speed and embrace all that life has to offer us. And i am ready to run, to ride the tide to see where it takes me. The one thing i know for sure is that i will never know for sure. I will always be green. Perhaps less green as i was when i stepped out of college for the first time, but just as excited and unsuspecting. I will keep on running as long as the road will take me. Forever holding my breathe for the next big thing.
It’s impossible to forget how truly wonderful Alexi’s music is... i see a reflection of my mind in his art
Darkness Falls
So much hurt and so much sadness. A fear hangs in my heart. Always alive. Always present. Silenced by the distractions. Getting stronger in the wake of all the good that is dying everyday.
Evil manifests in everyday. But now it is taking over. Life is not the same. We are all dead. Feasting on our own pounds of flesh. Draining the blood from those who keep the flame of hope alive.
There is no hope. There is only fear. And meaningless hours of constant nothingness.
Stop talking about love. Every asshole in the world says he loves somebody. It means nothing. What you feel only matters to you. It’s what you do to the people you say you love, that’s what matters. It’s the only thing that counts.

This character has to command a large staff, seduce old women, recite poetry, and escape from prison, all while dressed in a tailcoat. We needed Ralph.

Its true. A piece of my heart. Forever.

School. Major part of every child's formative years. A place of learning about ourselves and those around us. Of friendships and mischief. Where the spirit reigns free and the mind wanders. Where there is no enemy. Not even the kid who bullies the other about shabby uniform or obesity.
Its where you learn things like similies and sentences. "Safe as houses", "Happy as a lark", "Light as a feather". Oh the irony. Where the effervescence of youthful fervor keeps everyone abuzz. With knowing looks and cheeky smiles. With secret codes and scribbled notes. And recess highs with shared fries.
School is where the heart is full. Of love and lore. Of possibilities. Where a child begins to dream
Where we all begin. Where we are never meant to end.
I cannot imagine the pain the parents of the Pakistani children must be feeling. I cannot even fathom it. I cannot, in general, imagine the pain of losing a child, especially when they’re taken from you in such a horrific and unfathomable way, like today. I will pray for them, and for healing,...
