Hey, I love all your content about Darion. I'm pretty new to wow lore myself and was just wondering, where does it say that he's the most powerful dk?

@nighthaunting pointed out that the third installment of the chronicles, which are (more or less) the definitive canon after years and years of accidental and intentional retcons, Darion is stated to be the right hand of the Lich King while in the Scourge, and he was in charge of taking the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms for the Scourge.

Since then, he created a weapon that was the sister blade to the Runecarver's finest creation, Frostmourne, and is the first mortal we see harnessing domination magic, with the second and third being Bolvar post-Lich King (which imo doesn't count) and you, the player. This was also before he became one of the four horsemen, which was originally one of Kel'thuzad's little pet projects to create the most powerful death knights possible for his personal guard, something which he considered his greatest creation.

So yeah, Darion's the strongest death knight in lore, and arguably one of the strongest mortals alive around on Azeroth.

In my au nonsense I have forgotten the potential hilarity of mogrynn just in the main storyline… Genn being like “there’s undead in the keep and I can’t fucking find them.” Shaw saying that his agents haven’t caught wind of any undead and also it might just be Calia? Genn going “no it’s not her it’s someone else and they’re always here I can fucking smell them”

Meanwhile Darion is death gating out of the keep whenever they’re almost caught and Anduin’s like “idk what you’re talking about I haven’t seen any undead at all” when Genn confronts him on it.

yes ‘lord daval prestor’ as in deathwing, yes this is canon during the old post second war era daval prestor went to gilneas and spent a goodly amount of time as a guest of the royal court and they were ‘very close’ which is how deathwing got genn to support his claim for the throne of alterac over perenolde’s legitimate children. yes this is before deathwing went to lordaeron and bewitched king terenas to try and convince him to also support his claim to alterac and also to let him marry calia menethil, although that fell through bc archmage rhonin and krasus got back from time-travelling in time to stop his schemes but Not in time to stop him from potentially banging genn greymane
