My happy place <3
One of the very first sculptures I've ever done, and remains one of my faves. I'm removing it from my shop because I want to keep some of my early work to remember where I started and track my evolution as an artist. I wanted to make sure I still have photos of her up though, so here's one of my oldest, original pieces. She's a Garden Goddess and was made to rest on top of a beautiful slab of Agatized Petrified Wood or to stand alone.
My discovery of a whole entire forest worth of petrified wood and fossil specimen were what would eventually lead me to try sculpting. When I did, something in me clicked, like I tapped into this part of me I never knew existed.
A piece from a small, special series I've been working on for my collaboration with Path Forward Counseling & Creative Wellness that begins in August and runs all the way thru September. I align so much with their mission as an organization, and am excited to use this as an opportunity to grow as an artist while also supporting a cause that is close to my heart. I will also be hosting a workshop for the first time, so it's going to be a super satisfying experience all in all, even if I'm in a time crunch to finish my show that begins right after this one in October, I'm so blessed to be building this dream and seeing all my hard work this year since deciding to put 110% into becoming a full time artist finally come to some fruition. This will be my first ever solo show, a milestone I've been manifesting for many years.
Can't wait to share more of what I've been working on with you and I'm hoping to bring this little series to the internet as well so out of town peeps can engage with the show as well.

Just SOLD shakinblues.shop ! This little indigo fox girl was such a blast to make. As always used premium PaperClay for my main modeling material and then I used a similiar technique to spun cotton toy making with wool instead to add the fur texture details. Her arms dangle playfully - I've been trying to get more complex with my armature to be able to add unique little design feature like that and of course sturdy, well made sculptures. Sad to see her go, but also just so grateful to be growing my little shop and working towards my big dreams.
