she should have killed him
black mask akechi ^__^
the thing that Gets me about third semester akechi and 2/2 the most. is that the two things akechi wants and is motivated by. are to be free. and to be with someone who truly loves him. and third semester tells him that he can never have both. one must come at the cost of the other
and to make matters worse, he gets No Say in that choice. in the end, his fate is always in someone else’s hands. even during the conversation on 2/2 maruki repeatedly ignores akechi’s expressions of protest and frames the decision as Entirely Joker’s Choice To Make. akechi has never truly been in control and this just affirms that for him.
i think that’s part of the reason why he completely resigns himself if joker chooses maruki’s reality. what can he really do? he has spent this entire time fighting to be free and none of it mattered. like fuck man i’d give up too
of what remains of you tonight
maruki essentially projecting his grief for rumi onto joker & akechi bc he sees him & her in them is actually smth i think abt often.

The gays (akechi when i get you) doing crimes but this time it's medieval, shuake fans you've been very well fed
Royal Trio Swap but:
Goro's the outcast sent to Tokyo after he confronted his father on a whim and got unofficially kicked out by his foster family. His Fool's journey has him grow outside of his personal agenda, with a narrative foil whose existence is entirely dedicated to a thankless cause.
Sumire is the youth ambassador for a student initiative funded by Shido's party. She's graceful, sweet and polite. She's Japan's modern princess, who also happens to be a spy/assassin that's gotten so good at quiet kills the news only mention the incidents in passing. (She's a seemingly perfect hollow vessel that slowly reveals there is something left after a tragedy that left her trapped in Shido's hold.)
Akira's a new transfer student that got popular very quickly, and later reveals he's a 'rehabilitated' delinquent. Maruki made him believe he's perfectly fine, he has no rage or indignation in his heart, and he wasn't abandoned by his family and community as soon as he tried to do the right thing. (Maruki projects onto him so hard you'd think Akira is his child or something.)

Unposted art
Back in January, 2024, someone going by the name FrostWolf acquired several debug disks that contained the prototypes of Persona 5. There were five in total, dated as being from Jun 3, 2016; May 27, 2016; Mar 8, 2016; Feb 25, 2016; and Dec 4, 2015.
The December build has always been interesting to me, not necessarily because of its contents, but more so because of the community surrounding it. The interest in datamining was intense for the first few months, and then it died off quite completely. I’m not sure if many people are still actively datamining it, although to be fair I’m not very involved in the community.
Regardless, what I’m about to say should be taken with a massive grain of salt, because I’m saying it in large part because I hope it will reinvigorate the community if I’m correct about it having died down (but I also do believe this to be true).
I think I’ve found Akechi’s Palace.
…or at least something suspiciously Akechi-shaped.
I’ll start by just posting everything here, then give an explanation as to why I think it’s Akechi’s Palace and not anything else under the cut.
