“no i will not elaborate” is such a fun line, but unfortunately i have adhd and am incapable of shutting up. yes i will elaborate
Yes, I will elaborate and that is a threat.
You know that Ada Limón poem where she’s like “i can’t help it i love the way men love”? my dad recently confessed to me that he became a shoemaker because they buried my grandma shoeless

in all seriousness it's very alienating knowing theres Something Wrong With You. like seeing your mental illness come through in your behaviour and thought processes and knowing it's irrational and unhealthy, knowing other people are reading you as weird or stupid, and not being able to do anything about it is such a lonely experience

Ramadan will probably be hard for alot of us this year, it's more than food, its about community and love and if you have to social distance and isolate it's lonley. So with it coming up soon I thought I'd give some tips with with that in mind.
Eat over zoom, whether it's with friends family, muslim or not.
Everyone has food they love to eat during ramadan, get your favoratie recipes of your parents, grandparent and learn how to make them if you don't know
Have you daily water intake in a bottle or container so you know you've drank enough water.
Daily journaling is both a practical way to keep track of spiritual goals and to work as an act of self care when your alone.
Block everything you need to block on social media in advance and ask people to tag things as needed.
Make sure to time any medications with when your not fasting!
Have a group chat for keeping up with health fasting habits, spiritual goals, and emotional support.
Group chats are also good for discussing recipe, grocery budget. Eating healthy is extra important when we're in a pandemic so we can avoid going to the doctors
If you have an ed or are recovering please avoid fasting, or have a doctor or mental health professionals help create a plan for you. it's not required of you to fast when you are risking you physical and mental health.
