Summary:

“It’s easier to lose than to win.” - Wayne Gretzky

Shiro is at the peak of his NHL career. Unfortunately, being famous has its downsides, particularly when it comes to dating. And that’s on top of the fact that he’s still in the closet.

However, a chance meeting with college student Lance, who seems to be the only person in the entire city who doesn’t know who he is, gives him hope that maybe he won’t die alone after all. Just as long as he can keep his identity a secret.

Chapter 9 Excerpt:

Although Lance can still hear the sounds of people talking nearby, the sudden silence that has descended upon them is—to use the cliche term—deafening. Lance looks away and wrings his hands together, nervousness locking his limbs up.

What should he say? What is he even supposed to say in this kind of situation?

Takashi seems to make the decision for him because Lance hears him shuffling closer, followed by him quietly whispering, “Lance?”

It takes a lot more courage than Lance even thought he had in him, but he looks up to meet Takashi’s gaze. Takashi has taken off his helmet, revealing just how sweaty he still is. He has his hair tied back in a small man bun that Lance suddenly aches to run his fingers through.

He looks just as scared as Lance feels.

There’s Sunshine in Your Smile

Shiro is a human from Earth who travels to Altea with his partner, Keith, to discuss making healing pods for human use. He meets Lance there, a handsome Altean baker who stole Shiro’s heart at first sight. Or rather… first scent.

(Shiro just really loves the smell of Lance’s baking. Can you blame him?)

But what tragedies will occur when Shiro tries to court Lance without full knowledge of the Altean traditions?

“Breaking News - Humans Go To Altea For Healing Pod Improvements

King Alfor has requested for some humans to travel to Altea to discuss adjustments to the healing pods for human anatomy. Takashi Shirogane, a doctor well-known for his impeccable diplomatic skills, has past experience in working with alien anatomy and will be traveling to Altea for the job. His two teammates will accompany him, one of which is a technical genius who has studied Altean technology for years. She will be discussing blueprints for the pods with Coran, the Altean in charge of medical advancements for non-Altean anatomy.

Shirogane’s other teammate is an expert pilot who will be flying them to the planet. He has studied alien cultures in the past and is familiar with Altean customs. He will be working as a translator to explain any misunderstandings, as well as Altean blueprints for the pods. Despite many Alteans being familiar with English, these precautions are being taken just in case.

Despite many Alteans visiting Earth in the past, and some even living here, few humans have set foot on Altea. There are too many materials required for the healing pod improvements this time. Exporting it all would take too much time, so it will be easier to have these humans stay on Altea for the job.

The team is estimated to be on Altea for two months and the journey back should take one week. Mitch Iverson notified reporters that…”

Shiro sighed and closed the news article, setting his tablet on the table to his side. He walked up behind the pilot seat and laid his arm across the back of it. “Keith, how much longer until we arrive?” He was getting tired of sitting there in his uncomfortable armor with nothing to do besides wait.

The two pieces for my final fic for the @shanceaubang, Starting Over by @anidragon! 

Stardew is my second most played game, trumped only by Oblivion. When I saw the summary Ani had whipped up, I was already head over heels for it! I used a different brush for these two pieces vs my others in order to distance it & give it a more playful feel, and I’m very happy with how they turned out. 

Alongside Ani, who’s written this cutie patoot fic, I’d like to thank my fellow artist @jaynelleart and our beta, @after-midnightmunchies. Please, give them the love and attention they deserve as well!

The story’s concept was of course near and dear to my heart for many reasons, one of them being trans shiro and it awesome seeing the experience of being trans and coming out to your loved one expressed so clearly, and through shance which made it even better!!!

For a long while I’ve been working on this fic for the Shance Au Big Bang, and finally, the time has come to post it!

I can’t tell you the journey I’ve been on with this fic and how much I’ve loved every minute of writing it. My beta quietlyobscure and artist @anaake-art​ have been absolute gems and kept me going through this whole process. I’m so proud to finally be sharing it with you all and I hope those who choose to read it enjoy it as much as I did writing it! Thank you to all the @shanceaubang mods and those involved, it’s been a truly wonderful experience.

This lovely fic was written by @succubustykisses, bettad by the wonderful Jay (@/smoljaybird on twitter) and the other artist was @aceveria which I totally hope y’all check their piece(s) out as well because let me tell you, they were fucking amazing. And the fic is fantastic too, so definitely go read it, though be warned it does get smutty towards the end with dashes of spiciness throughout the first few parts.

Summary:

When lance goes to Kogane forest in search of the cat he saw plastered all over the news he ends up with a lot more than he bargained for. But he’s not complaining.

The ghost floated up, arms crossed as he looked over the trees. “I’ll make you a deal.” Lance’s eyes brightened, he knew his excitement was obvious. But, he didn’t care. “If you can find me in this forest before the sun sets, I’ll take you to see Shiro. If not, you will leave this forest without a fight.” He turned and lowered down to Lance’s level again, holding out his transparent hand. “Do we have a deal?”

Shiro must be the cat.

Lance reached out, taking the hand, surprised when he actually felt contact. “Deal.” Before he could even shake the hand properly it was gone, along with its owner, only the flutter of leaves in the air showing he had even been there. Snatching up one of the leaves, Lance grinned. This ghost vastly underestimated him.
