Pinkie Promise (Yuugo x Lucas)
Listen, AIB isnât my only interest. The Promised Neverland is too and some new friends convinced me to write some good olâ fanfiction for these two gay men because the anime is not providing us with the food we want.
If youâre a close friend of mine/mutual and you see this, no you donât, keep scrolling. Donât read my gay fanfiction.
@milfyuugoâ a present for you, queen. Enjoy.
1.4k of pure fluff and nothing else.
âHave you noticed,â Emma said, mostly to herself, one afternoon, but really she was hoping Don and Gilda would listen in, âthat Yuugo does that thing with Lucas.â She sipped on her juice loudly, staring intently at Yuugo and Lucas who were standing by the kitchen door entrance, talking amongst themselves. Emma couldnât hear what it was they were talking about, but she heard the word âcabbageâ once or twice, so she assumed farming. Yuugo looked disgruntled about something before she saw him lift his right hand, showing Lucas his gross fingers, caked in dirt. He must be complaining about doing most of the garden work lately and with the way he then touched his back, he was not enjoying it.
âWhat thing with Lucas?â Gilda asked as she wiped the table clean with a cloth, âargue?â
Emma shook her hand and held her hand up. âHe keeps doing this thing where he doesnât quite hold his hand but itâs likeâŠâ Emma stops to think for a moment before reaching down and grabbing Gildaâs hand and wrapping her pinkie finger around hers, âhe does a lot. Have you never noticed?â
âWell, I donât quite stare at peopleâs hands, Emma,â Gilda said with a giggle before pulling her hand away, âI wonder why he does thatâŠâ
Both girls looked away from the table stains, their attention now back to Yuugo and Lucas, where Lucas was grinning and gently hit the back of Yuugoâs leg with his cane. They heard him faintly say something along the lines of âYou volunteered.â
Throwing her cloth down onto the table, Emma walked around to get a closer look at the two of them, her eyes trained on their hands now, still connected at the pinkie. âDon. Have you noticed?â But with the shrug and mumbled noise Don made, she assumed he had no idea what she was talking about and wasnât even paying attention to the conversation, most interested in chipping away at the wooden table with the knife, clearly bored.
Would it be rude to ask? Itâs not as though she asks anyone else about small gestures or quirks they do. Sheâs noticed Nat sometimes scrunches his nose up at nothing, or that Rayâs left eyebrow quirks up slightly when heâs thinking, or Anna curls her hair around her thumb. She never thought to ask them about that but this, this small little thing Yuugo does for some reason intrigued her.
Lucas seemed to be finally sick of Yuugo moaning about the work and walked off, telling Yuugo to go lay down for a bit if he was that tired of gardening, letting him know heâd get someone to finish the rest off. Emma took her chance and saddled up next to him, grinning.
âOh great, itâs you. What do you want?â Yuugo asked as he took out a pocket knife and began to stick it under his nails to clean them.
âWe have water for a reason.â Emma said shaking her head, âbut thatâs not what Iâm here for. Why are you doing that thing with Lucas?â
Yuugo paused, slowly pulling the knife away. âDoing what thing?â
âI used to read a book, it had pictures of this woman and man, they were in love and theyâd hold hands. So, I assumed thatâs what you do but you donât really hold hands with Lucas.â Emma raised her pinkie finger, âyou only ever hold his pinkie with yours. Whyâs that?â
âYou notice that but conveniently forgot to notice you didnât sweep the floors last week?â He only pretended to look annoyed, as Emma saw the corner of his lips quirk up, just a little, so insignificant that no one would notice but Emma loves looking for little things like that in Yuugo. It allows her to know when heâs actually annoyed with them all or just kidding on. âItâs just a habit of mine, thatâs all. I used to wrap string around my pinkie back when I was, you knowâŠalone. Lucas doesnât like me doing that, so I just hang onto whatever I can.â
He said it so smoothly that Emma thought nothing of it and grinned. âI used to do that too, mostly when Iâm bored.â She turned and raised her arms to get Rayâs attention, âRay! Let me see your hand for a second.â
âWhat? No, donât touch me.â Ray moved out of Emmaâs path as she tried to jump for him, reaching for his hand, âyouâre not using me to stop your annoying habits!â

Lucas paused outside his and Yuugoâs room, glancing in. The children were all in their rooms now and he was making one last check of everything but got distracted. There was a light coming from their bedroom. Yuugo was still awake. He slowly pushed the door open with his cane and walked in.
âCanât sleep?â He asked, walking to the bed and sitting down slowly, hearing his knees crack. Yuugo chuckled behind him.
âOld man.â
âLike you can talk. Who was just complaining about their back doing the garden today?â Lucas turned to glance at Yuugo, smiling, âwhatâs wrong?â
Yuugo shrugged. âI just donât like to sleep without you, is all.â He said quietly, eyes slowly moving up. Lucas huffed and stood again. He glanced outside the door, everything seemed quiet, except for some hushed chatter down the hall from one of the rooms. Lucas closed the door and walked to the other side of the bed, laying down.
âIâll stay here until you fall asleep then, okay?â He said softly, turning on his side. He laid his hand out as Yuugo curled his pinkie around his.
âEvery time I close my eyes, I fear youâll disappear again.â
Lucas almost didnât hear Yuugo say that it was so softly spoken. The fire on the candlestick danced around as Lucas watched intently. âI knowâŠâ He said, not sure what to say, âbut I already promised you I wouldnât.â His eyes flickered back to Yuugo. His pinkie squeezed Yuugoâs tightly, âhow many times do we have to pinkie promise before you believe me?â
Huffing at that, Yuugo frowned, âDonât make fun of me.â
âIâm not.â Lucas laughed before moving closer, âyou know we could just take another vow if thatâll make you feel better.â
Yuugoâs eyebrow raised. âLike what?â
âYou could always marry me.â
The room was silent. Not even the soft chattering of the children from down the hall was heard. It was so quiet that Lucas could only hear the sound of his heart hammering against his chest.
âWhat a shitty proposal.â Yuugo said finally, âand who would marry an old man like you anyway, huh?â
âYouâre telling me you wouldnât marry this old man?â Lucas retorted back before grinning as Yuugo leaned in, laughing. âI donât exactly know how we could get technically married, but who cares, really? I just want you to know Iâm not leaving you again.â
Scoffing, Yuugo flicked Lucasâ nose. âYou canât be going and leaving me at the altar now, you got that?â
âNo sir, I promise.â Lucas gave Yuugo a quick kiss, âthat means you canât leave me at the altar either.â
âKnowing Emma, sheâll drag my ass there four hours early.â
They both laughed, Lucas snorting and falling into Yuugoâs arms, âw-whoâŠthe hell is going to officiate our wedding? Or you think we should just,â he paused, trying to catch his breath, âlet them all fight it out and see who wants to be the officiant the most?â he asked in between breaths.
âYou know, I can totally see Pizza Topping being a priest. Not saying heâd be good at it. But a priest nonetheless.â
Silence filled the room again before they both howled, clutching their stomachs. âStop, your boney elbows are digging into my ribs!â Lucas yelled, still laughing as he tried pushing Yuugo away but Yuugo was quick, wrapping his arms around him, their faces close together again. They settled down now, only breathing heavily.
âYou ever tell the kids I laugh this much, Iâll reject you at our own damn wedding.â
Lucas kissed his nose. âI think itâs cute you laugh a lot. But fine, I wonât tell anyone, only because I really want to see Thoma try and officiate a wedding now.â
The door to their room creaked open, both of them freezing still on the bed. Oliver popped his head slightly, ears red. âCongrats and all, Iâm really happy for you both butâŠmy room is next door you know. Iâm trying to sleep, Please stop laughing like dying horses.â
