The once beloved Angel of God was watching the stranger, even in the pit black of the night. He didn’t need anything to see, he was like a cat. His senses also told him that something was quite familiar with that being that was approaching. Not human… Maybe at some point but now, no. Something much more and darker than a simple human. He could sense it all. A man with scales, like a snake. The eyes of a snake and the hiss if a snake as he spoke.

The figure before Twin juat raised his head, letting his gorgeous blue eyes shine in the only light provided. The moonlight above. When he first spoke, Aramaic was the first language that came out of him. His name is Aramaic but then, he spoke like the stranger. “You can call me Satan…” His voice had bith male and female essence in it. You couldn’t really understand what he was and also his looks didn’t help. Just like Angels are.

Something should have influenced the Twin to think he’d be better off just walking away, but being of a similar essence to strange figure beyond the trees, he wasn’t afraid. If anything, he was curious. It wasn’t often their kind were found wandering so freely, here. He sensed something terrible within the stranger he so incautiously approached. Something...he should have recognized far sooner.

As the person spoke his name, the Twin’s rejection of the idea became quickly apparent. ❝You are no Sssatan, to me.❞

It's Probably a Trap... || Twin & Satan

A tall, shadowy figure roamed around the dark forest. The fallen Angel only had a black cloak covering his body and a black hoodie to go along with it that covered his bald head. At first, he looked normal, well… too fair for a human, but still, normal. Until a maggot played around his nose, entering it as he sat under a tree.

There was someone there… He had spotted someone pacing around and probably coming his way. Sitting on his knees and lowering his body, he waited. His fair light blue eyes were far too calm and hypnotic. His facial expression didn’t give anything away. It was calm, soft and almost expressionless… for now… He smirked and waited there, in silence.

The Twin had been deployed to the Earthly world in order to summon a Sinner to Hell. Some of the other Carnies were jealous of him being chosen, but it didn’t matter to him. The others’ envy was amusing, in all honesty...it gave him something to make fun of them for. It was all in jest, of course, but teasing was one of the Twin’s fortes, by rights.

He’d been on his way to drag the Sinner down when he caught the scent of somebody interesting. Being of the serpentine kind, his sense of smell was heightened, especially around new people. He sauntered closer to the unusual being, recognizing something not quite placable within him. ❝Your ssscent is familiar...who are you?❞

What Do The Do to You? || Twin & Athena

Athena, just like any child at her young age, would not always do what she was told to. And especially in a case like this, where her father was at stake and his safety questionable, she wouldn’t give it a second thought before acting! She might had broken a rule by just being there but she was there by accident and just happened uponed seeing Twin being tortured. The young of her age didn’t let her realize how dangerous it was and how the same fate could be written for her as well, if she didn’t flee and go to Hell again, from where she came.

“Daddy, no… I’m scared there without you! You’re all I have!” Cried the little girl, looking up at Twin’s green, serpetine eyes and letting a tear drop from her eye as her frown deepened.

The Twin could see the glint of fear in her eyes; he recognised it all too well. It made him want to take her in to his arms, and keep her protected, but he knew he couldn’t do that until he was released from this blasted chair, and who knew when that would be, or when the mysterious figure would appear again?

❝Athena - listen to me! Seeing you get hurt would be ssso much more painful than this.❞ he began, having intended to tell her more than just this, but his sentence was cut short by the reappearance of the shadowy figure. ❝Athena! Run! RUN!❞

What Do The Do to You? || Twin & Athena

This was supposed to be Heaven. Athena couldn’t understand it, it felt more like a dark place, filled with stress and anxiety for some souls that needed… “cleansing”. Especially the ones that were there for just a little visit from Hell before being sent back to the pits of it.

As the little girl heard her father’s painful shouts as he was flogged with a whip on his belly, she gasped as she actually saw the scene, too. With her own, innocent eyes while she stook by the entrance of the room Twin was held in. She put a hand over her mouth from shock and her big eyes widened even more. “Daddy!” She screamed and completely ignored her father’s warnings to leave and get away from all of them for her own sake. No, she wanted to help him, he was her daddy! She felt her eyes burning with tears threatening to escape but still, she ran to him and tried to untie him but to no avail.

The Twin knew that Athena would more than likely bypass his warning, but it didn’t soften his concerns as she came hurtling towards him. If she stayed here much longer, she could be up for the same fate - who knew what might happen? She wasn’t a Sinner, that was for sure, but she had broken a rule just by being there! Heaven was no fantasy land like you read in the bible, it was a trap. Athena would be spared no further than the Twin, himself, if they caught her trying to free him.

❝It’s useless! Jussst find yourself sanctuary. You won’t find it here; go back to Hell, stay safe!❞ he urged her once more as her tiny hands pulled & heaved at his restraints. ❝Don’t worry about me - jussst go! Before it’s too late!❞

What Do The Do to You? || Twin & Athena

Athena was not in the Carnival anymore… She could hear people singing and happy music coming from… nowhere in particular. The place was much different that the Carnival, actually. People looked normal and their clothes were flamboyant and happy.

But from other places, away from the ones the musics and singing were heard, another type of sound invaded the little girl’s ears. Screaming. Agonizing screaming. From many people. But at one point, a certain voice made her freeze in her place. It was her father’s screams of pain from a place at her left. She frowned and ran towards the source of the sound, gasping and screaming out frightened at what she saw. “Daddy!!!”

The Twin had been here for a while, now, strapped & chained to this chair in the dimly lit room. Time was no object to him, now. He’d lost track of all calendar senses. Heaven, they called it...hah! Ironically, he’d be better off in Hell!

He couldn’t quite make out the shadowy figure in front of him, having to focus his eyes to even get a clear idea of their distance. Before he had time to determine who they were, he felt a sharp sting to his abdomen as he was flogged without warning, the force of the attack bringing blood to the surface, creating yet another few lacerations to his already battered body. The Twin’s shouts of pain were likely heard by quite a few, but these people were corrupt & cruel. Nobody would even think to take a look at where these cries of agony were coming from, which was why he turned in shock as a female voice sounded out through the tent’s left entrance. Though, when he realized exactly who had come in here, every paternal instinct he’d ever had were raised on high alert. ❝Athena! When did you get here?! Sssweetheart, you must go! Get away from these people!❞

Snake Love

Merry was indeed surprised by what was going on there. She couldn’t take her eyes off of Scorpion as he so fascinatingly worked his knife throwing skills. But as soon as the knife hit the gir;’s chest, killing her instantly, Merry couldn’t help but stand up immediately with a deep gasp, covering her mouth, her eyes going wide as her stare was locked on the now dead girl in front of her as everybody was cheering and dancing.

She sat down after a minute, still shocked, her hand relaxing a bit but still over her lips, looking at Twin as he spoke, her eyebrows furrowing. “Why did he do that? Wasn’t this just a game?” She demanded, both fear and anger burning inside her, but surely mostly fear. Where these people crazy and insane?

The Twin had expected such the reaction from yet another filthy Sinner. Oh, how they proved their naivety, each time. It had become somewhat of a game for the serpentine man. Despite his particular inclination to lean towards Merrywood, he had reserved any further advances until he was sure how she would react. This had just proven his concerns.

A dark laugh escaped from between his lips, his scaly skin twinkling under the light, his face hidden behind the shadows of the tent. ❝My beautiful ssstranger...this is The Devil’s Carnival. We don’t play for the sssake of it, you know.❞

Lost in the Carnival

The girl watched eagerly as her father stood on his tip toes to bring the selected doll down for her. A grin was always curved of her young, pale face and she clapped her hands before given ther new doll. She looked down at her, grinning even more as she stroked the doll’s hair and hat carefully and then she looked back up at him with a glowing face. She was so happy and enthusiastic! “I think I will name her… Hmm, Molly! Molly is a very beautiful name for her, isn’t it, daddy?” She looked up at him hopefully, as if waiting for his confirmation for the name, smiling happily.

The Twin could barely contain his adoration for the young girl beside him. Oh, the aching months he had waited in agony, never sure of whether or not he would see his beautiful Daughter again. And now here she was, she was real, she was there, and she was his.

❝It’sss a beautiful name, young one.❞ confirmed the snake-like man. ❝Perhaps,❞ he continued, ❝Molly would like a friend...❞ he suggested with a smirk, gesturing towards another game, a twisted form of hook-a-duck.

At first sight, she looked like the innocent and honest girl Twin saw in her. But she was a Largo, nonetheless, and a fierce murderer if you thought about it. She wouldn’t hesitate killing a thousand Genterns in only one hour to save her husband from their claws, a lovely lady in order to take her face for her Pavi and she generally was a dark soul most of the time. Fooling many with her seemingly sweet and kind manners and an angelic smile. “You try? You make it, my dear.” She assured her snake-like friend.

The Twin could sense a world within the young Largo girl. However, she only showed one side of her complexity. The other was tucked away under the covers, only to be revealed during the most trying of times. Perhaps, he would bear witness to them, sometime... who knew? In this place, most impossible things became reality.

❝You charm me, my friend.❞ he crooned, circling her somewhat mischievously. Soon, he took her form, and pranced around her with a mimicking walk that was scarily alike her own. ❝You sssee, it is a pity we are from different realms. We should have tea more often.❞

The Twin let out an almighty laugh, one that appeared almost too rich for a man of his stature. Swirling fog whirled around them, blocking their vision, and filling their lungs with smoke. Soon, they appeared upon a well-lit ground, music playing frivolously in the background.

As the tent’s entrance fell back down, she turned to face him once more after her eyes going wide from the flaches and lights and the crowd that had was gathered there, waiting for the Scorpion to arrive. At his bow, she couldn’t help but smiling and her eeyebrows raised at the sound of his name. “The Twin?” She replied, blinking some but then smiling again as he led her to the empty seat, looking at him as he took the seat beside her, kind of relieved that he didn’t just leave her there with all these people she didn’t know.

She leaned towards him as he spoke, her eyes still on Scorpion though, who had just arrived to the scene for his show. A smirk came to her face at Twin’s warning. “Don’t worry, I can handle it, I’m sure.” She assured him, even though the strapped girl’s face showed clear fear.

The Scorpion began his luring song, dancing and swaying to the beat as he threw his knives with great precision. The Twin watched intently, forever fascinated by the way every girl fell for his charms. Were they truly so stupid? It appeared so.

The Twin cheered along with the rest of the crowd as the young girl was suddenly struck with a knife through the left of her chest, being instantly killed, despite the fact that she was already technically dead, just like Merry. ❝Ssso, you still think you can handle the ressst of the Carnival?❞ smirked the double-crosser, curious to see whether or not her enthusiasm had been curbed.
