Suh, was on a shoot recently with this Vivacious Jamaican Sista, close to the Old Fort Craft Market and I said to her, “let’s go over the Market & gwaan like Tourist.” She didn’t hesitate and she absolutely nailed it with her Divalistic Style.
Asked the Vendor lady if we could borrow a Bag and she said sure.
I’m still uncertain why Craft Markets and Markets in general in Jamaica 🇯🇲 seem to always be plagued with issues.
This is part of our Heritage & Culture, we can’t they be properly kept while providing a wonderful Experience for both Visitors & Residents?
They should have Life Reggae Music, Real Jamaican Food, Authentic Jamaican Art & Craft, ppl should be able to walk thru the Market and stop n buy from any Stall or Vendor they feel like without being harassed, would be nice to have tourists experience pushing a hand cart or being pushed on one, would be noce to have them tie & dye their own TShirts, even offer cooking classes @ the craft market as part of an all day tour or excursion, experiencing the Real JA.
Anyway, maybe I’m overthinking.
