In my mind Kris is non-binary because when they were adopted, the monsters in town didn't know how to identify male or female humans. So they all were like. "Well, we don't Wana get it wrong so let's just not choose"

So they raised Kris as gender neutral as possible. And because that's how Kris was brought up, being any other way feels strange.

obsessed with kris using things the player can't see to communicate with other characters. drawing on the window in the diner. 80% as much honey on toast as usual. silly faces and nodding/shaking their head. changing the tone of what we make them say to make it clear that they mean it differently. i love that it's shown time and time again that kris ISN'T apathetic about anything. kris wants friends. kris has boundaries and wants mom to know that what she did made them feel bad. kris wants the people in their life to be happy and kris wants affection. i love kris deltarune

My DELTARUNE theory on Dess.

Based on nothing but vibes.

Spoilers below ya goob.

(I don't expect this to be true in the slightest. But a girl can have hopes and dreams ok?)

Asriel and Dess also tried to 'proceed' a cross the lake. They got quite far in, but then Asgor sees them after recieving a report that Dess and Asriel were missing. Being in the Police he is part of the search for them. He finds them in the lake. But he only sees Asriel. He pulls his son out of the water, noticing to late that Dess is there as well. Once he realises, he tries to find Dess as well. Wading through the water. But he can't find her. She's already reached 'the other side of the lake' (most likely a dark world that Asgor sees in some way but can't get too)

The town thinks he was blinded by worry about his own son that he let Dess drown.

Making sense why Asgor says his family never gave up on him when the rest of the town did. He saved Asriel. But to the town he let the eldest daughter of the mayor drown.
