I recalled recently, while leafing through a Pythtech robotics directory, my first real exposure to the mechanical constructs I would later forge a career upon. Functioning robots were rarely encountered outside of factories and military parades. They were simply too expensive and difficult to maintain for widespread use, though a well-connected Citizen could get their hands on nearly anything. I suspect my mother’s prominence in the development of the great artificial intelligences had earned her significant clout in the acquisition of such things.
