That isn’t how that sort of thing works, Clubs. It’s not as if you’re propositioning one of your ladies of the night, but I do believe you’d get a similar slap. Perhaps enough to knock some sense into you. And yes, money does have the fortunate ability to buy most everything; that’s obvious. There are also other factors to be accounted for that you haven’t considered, however. Cultural ones, for example–though that may be a bit difficult to explain in this instance, being that you have absolutely no experience with having a shell. That, and I really just don’t feel like going off on a tangent about it.

Something was different about tonight, you had to admit. Just what it was, you couldn't put your finger on it, but it was enough to notice--for a moment, you almost wondered if there was some horrorterror bullshit you didn't want to deal with preparing to raise its undoubtedly ugly head, but after a quick stock, you reasoned that that couldn't be it. This was...better. Electrifying, almost. Tonight, you stalked the streets of Midnight City, your city, with a gleam in your eyes under the shade of your homburg and a faint sneer on your face, sharp teeth showing starkly against your shell. You faded in and out of view as you moved from streetlight to streetlight, only briefly illuminated by the golden circles etched out on the sidewalk--sure, you could've taken a route that would've been a lot less noticeable, but tonight, you felt like making a more public appearance, even if the streets weren't quite as busy as you would've liked. Oh well. There was no changing that, and you'd just have to take what you could get.

You lit a cigarette with a puff of breath, the purple flame practically leaping to the cig and greedily lapping away at the wrapper. Blowing it out, you watched as the black curls of smoke lazily wafted away into the night sky, grasping at the few stars visible in the city skyline. The fire had drawn a few eyes, and you grinned right back at them, sending a shudder up a few spines as they hurried to look away.

You were Diamonds Droog, and things were gonna be different from here on out.
