  Slick was interrupted and dragged back to reality by the loud crashing noise of Deuce falling to the floor. He turned around just to heard the door slammed and the man on the floor.

  He almost laughed.

  Quickly jumping off from the chair, he hurried over to Deuce. The thumbs up gave the situation a even more comic taste, and that made Slick laughed a little in his head. Anything Deuce tried to do after just made Slick feel worse, but it might have been the best to save faces.

  “Indeed, you bleeding there Deuce- didn’t you think of a better, uh, entrance. Anything but not that,” he pointed his index finger at Deuce’s body, and made sure it was exaggerated, “or did you miss that tune too much eh?”

Digging deep into his pocket he procured a raggedy-looking handkerchief, not Clubs’ idea, but Droog’s influence, he’d had more than enough scowls for never having such a simple thing, at least it had come in use now

“Er, bit ‘a both actually...was gonna make a big entrance an’ like, get you weepin’ with fuckin’ nostalgia or some shit, sounds real gay now that I think about it, not that that’s a bad thing!” he covered his bleeding nose and rose to his feet hoping they’d change the topic of conversation and get right back to what he wanted to do.

With a free hand he dragged his Slick back over to the piano and sat him down rather forcibly, because they were gonna get this shit done whether he was bleeding or not...sure he might sound like he had a bad cold right now, but he’d sung under worse conditions. “Go for it! I’ll join in an’ try not t’ get blood all over th’ fuckin’ keyboard Slick.” he grinned, mouth half-obscured by his own hand, either way he was eager , weird thing to look forward to, but Slick made the difference, grumpy, lovable bastard.

  Something Slick always questioned himself why he and Clubs had their way of communication. It had been so long since Deuce and he jammed together, he thought it was going to be really awkward, but from the condition of tunes, he could manage. 

  What song did Deuce like again? Slick thought to himself, playing tunes that came up to his head. He recalled a few that Deuce mentioned long ago, things that he would never forget-

  Then a very familiar tune came up.

  “That’s it,” he murmured, and hit the key board, warming up the free style flow of the song. Slick wanted Droog to be at the side so he could insert some heavy saxophone to spice the tune up. 

  It really shouldn’t have taken Deuce so long to dress up. Slick wondered if Deuce forgot where the piano room was as well, not that first thing Deuce forgot…Ugh, time to wait.

And there it was, that sweet melodious tune so nostalgic to his tiny heart, though instead of gracefully entering said room in a flurry of sing song birds and tunes oh so delightful he stumbled like a dumb fucker, catching his sleeve on said door handle as he tripped into the frame sending the door ricocheting into the wall it was attached to and leaving a tiny mobster to plummet to the floor face first.

He groaned from his position and gave Slick a reassuring thumbs up before his boss could come to his aid, face still planted firmly onto the floor as he willed the pain away. Mustering his cheeriness from before however he forced himself into a cross legged position and grinned goofily up at his piano playing leader, blood running freely from his busted nose.

“Great start, huh boss? Heh...ow.” laughing through the pain, yeah, that’d do the trick.

  I meant to say that happened to one of our timelines, but don’t mind me. Working on so many space and time stuff might have made me a little… whatever you call it.

  I don’t think most of them work anymore. The hats are gone, the effigy fell down from their ropes. I know when I could not sense any life anymore- either because they are dead or they are just not in the same dimension as I am.

  I hope to see them again, and not just dead. I am pretty sure if they were stranded in a timeline themselves, they would be able to survive much better than I can.

 I can’t even take care of Fin. I can’t even take care of myself.

He’d managed to throw something at least half decent on after some scavenging in his mess of a pit, it needed cleaning, but he wasn’t going to deal with that now, he had more important things to be doing...well, not important, but nostalgic at least.

He scurried through the corridors towards their esteemed piano players lair, he could hear him playing already, faint but growing in volume, there always was something gentle, but loud in the way Slick stroked those keys.  Upon reaching the door Deuce had refrained from entering immediately, normally one to barge through doors, this time he was going to wait until his boss started up something he could get into, then he’d do that cheesy shit where he sings from the other side of the door and it’s dead romantic or some crap...ew, time to wait.

Perhaps enough to knock some sense into you. And yes, money does have the fortunate ability to buy most everything; that’s obvious. There are also other factors to be accounted for that you haven’t considered, however. Cultural ones, for example–though that may be a bit difficult to explain in this instance, being that you have absolutely no experience with having a shell. That, and I really just don’t feel like going off on a tangent about it.
