I allowed myself to rest, now I can’t move.
I told myself I needed real rest, so I stopped. I let go of side hustles, art, posting, and even the need to be seen. I allowed everything to go quiet because I was tired— not just tired, but burned out.
I used to make art all the time. Illustrations, almost every week. I used to be active on Instagram, consistently showing up, sharing, creating. But then I lost my phone, and with it, my account. I tried to recover it, but I couldn’t. At some point, I just said—let it be. I didn’t start again. I didn’t make a new one. I didn’t go back to how I was. I just stopped.
At first, it felt right. Like finally putting something down after carrying it for too long. There was relief in the silence.
But now, I want to come back. And I do. I really do. Back to something I want to do.
It just doesn’t move the same.
I feel like a car that’s been sitting in a garage for too long. I turn the key, and it doesn’t start the way it used to. There’s no rush, no sudden engine coming to life. Sometimes there’s nothing. Sometimes just a small sound—like something is there, just not ready.
There’s a voice in my head curating, day dreaming that I am doing something, but I am not.
And I think that’s what scares me. Because before, I would’ve forced it. I would’ve pushed harder, tried to get back to who I was, to how I moved, to how quickly I could create and show up.
But I don’t want that anymore.
I still want to create. I still want to show up. But softer. Slower. In a way that doesn’t take everything from me again.
So maybe this is what starting looks like now. Not stuck, but not fully moving either. Somewhere in between.
Sitting in the car. Turning the key. Listening.
Not forcing it. Just allowing it to come back, on its own.
This time. PS: I'm also in substack please follow me also. Substack Account: https://substack.com/@lexinesharra?utm_campaign=profile&utm_medium=profile-page
There's a patg that leads nowhere. In a meadow that I kno, Where an inland island rises And the stream is still and slow; And beneatg the silver green Of the birches' silent shadows Where the early violets lean. Other pathways lead to somewhere, But the one I loved so well Had no end and no beginning -- Just the beauty of the dell, Just tge wildflowers and the lilies Yellow striped as adder's tongue, Seem to satisfy my parhway As it winds their sweets among. -Corinne Roosevelt Robinson . . . #collageart #digitalcollage #gradientart #digitalart #flatart #geometricart #path #poem #poetry #art #artph #redbubble #graphicdesign #design #geometric (at Metro Manila) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBcN-pKFXHb/?igshid=15x2kchdez2z

My Daily Reminder to myself: I will breathe. I will think of solutions. I will not let my worry cotrol me. I will not let my stress level. I will simply breathe and it will be okay Because I don't quit. . . . By Shayne McClendon (at Manila, Philippines) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_jLMGOFMqR/?igshid=uuc4qmk7jrt1

"Space Bubble" 🤯 Did you know that this is the airline uniform of Braniff International in 1965 -1966 designed by Emilio Pucci. The head gear was designed as hair protection against inclement weather. One of my portrait studies this ECQ period. I have a lot of realization about my works from the past, I deleted some of them but you can still find it on my tumblr account ( Link in my bio). I was able to criticize my work and there are times that I actually don't know what I really want to do, what is my art style, and what I want to show here. But then just keep working, just keep practicing. I always tell myself if I stop learning the process I will never be able to find what I am looking for. Recently, DOH calls for volunteer health workers due to the increasing case of COVID-19 in our country and offers Php 500 per day. They deserve a higher salary with free accommodation and food. This is an insult for our nurses as professionals. If they will apply as “volunteer” they will also do the same job as other regular medical personnel.
Remember they are risking their lives to save ours.
Let’s pray for our fronliners.

This past few days I felt like 3 months is equivalent of 12 months of 2020 there's so much hapenning in the world. But despite of that we have to be aware of our mind, body and soul, by doing that you are not just helping your self but also your family and our country. . . We need to cooperate, stay at home as much as possible. Let's Pray and keep safe. . . . . . . #covid_19 #illustration #digitalart #virus #artph #artistsoninstagram #artphilippines (at Manila, Philippines) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9_G1F3JyDo/?igshid=1fdp9idop48nr
