-Sparrow Surana has never gone out of his way to hide the fact that he is not like most men, nor is it something he feels the need to talk about; it’s just a fact of life. In the Circle, no one cared, and since leaving it isn’t something he’s had much time to think about. This makes the moments when others take notice all the more interesting, as Sparrow learns as much about his compatriots as they do about him— if not more. Or; moments when other characters realize the Hero of Ferelden is trans (and the limitations of Thedosian language around this concept).

-Patience didn’t belong here. They tolerated her, and she made sure to be useful, but the biggest consequence for Rafael’s open hostility was mild scolding. And yet Basalit’Reth made sure to treat her as an equal, to make sure that at least her needs were met. It was such a strange experience. A low bar, to be sure, but between her life in the tower and what she could remember of her parents, she’d been an obligation at best, a burden to suffer through at worst. With Basalit’Reth, it felt like he looked after all of them because it made his life more complete. Patience didn’t quite understand it, but Basalit’Reth returned a smile, and the idea of her presence making someone’s life better, despite literally being most people’s worst nightmare, warmed her as much as the delicious mug of tea.

Hi everyone! We're back with our twenty-first piece for the Dragon Age Big Bang 2026!
We had an uneven number of works this year, so one day only gets one work, and that day happens to be today!

Summary:
Outside of Thedas’ borders lies the Donarks mountain range. Nestled among the thick jungle undergrowth is a temple dedicated to Ghilan’nain untouched by time. Isabela followed Merrill as her lover searched for the Vallasin’nadas, an artifact left behind by the mother of the halla. As they explore the temple, Isabela quickly realizes all is not as it seems in this temple. Strange voices and frescos depicting twisted and grotesque monsters plague her as she follows Merrill deeper. Until they reach the belly of the beast and they learn that Ghilan’nain was not the mother of the halla. She was the mother of monsters.
After the events of The Veilguard, Taash has to sort out Shathann's house. When they do, they discover records related to the Qun, including records of their breeding, and the identity of their father. Their father, who turns out to be a certain Tal-Vashoth mercenary of some repute.

“It’s not exactly bad news, Taash,” Isabela says. “At least your dad’s not the bloody Arishok or something.”
Taash glares at her, looking frantic, and – oh dear, something sadder than simply anger. Anger Isabela was prepared for, but the disappointment that turns Taash’s brow tight, eyes wild – she’s not sure how to stem the tide of it.
“I thought it would be more useful! What’s the point of any of this? I’m so stupid, thinking this was going to be any use, it’s just more Qun vashadan! I’ll never know what happened to him, he might just work on a farm on Par Vollen, or maybe he died! Or been one of those invading Antaam! What if I’ve already put an axe in my dad?!”
Taash wheels around, looking at Harding, probably expecting to find her adorable, sympathetic face looking at her, ready to offer calm words. Except, no – Harding’s admittedly still adorable face is scrunched up pensively, staring into the middle distance.
Taash goes still, clearly caught off guard by it too. Their shoulders square again, tense in a new way.
“Lace? What is it?”
Harding drags her eyes back, looking between Isabela and Taash a few times, before she settles her gaze on Taash, sits a little straighter. She takes a breath, bracing her hands on her knees.
“Taash, I think I know who your dad is.”
