But life, instead of simply throwing a wrench in his plans, empties the entire toolbox into them, and he finds himself facing a hidden path, one he didn’t know existed.

Summary: Practicing, games, and even more practicing. Hockey is their life but in order to stay sane, the players also need to have something else to balance it with. Something important that keeps them grounded.

The New York Shadows is a tightly knit team of the best hockey players in the country. What the team doesn’t know is that two of the players are even closer than the rest, and it takes a game that almost ends up being the last one for one of them for the team to find out. When their ground shifts so intensely, it opens the couple’s eyes to how deep their feelings actually run, and how important what they have really is for them.

Helen likes to think of herself as a dedicated student, but even she can admit that, recently, she’s been studying the cute dark-haired girl who seamlessly mans the café in Ouroboros Books more than her college notes. Not that that matters, really, because it’s summer, full of family days and music and sun-warmed laughter. But deep down, she longs for a summer romance straight out of a song, and she can’t help wondering whether Café Girl might be the one she’s been waiting for. 

Aline agrees to help out at the bookstore as a favour for Alec. It doesn’t hurt that she can put her tip money towards her travel plans, dip into the shop’s recently expanded queer lit section during quiet periods in the café, and tease him about his crush on the effortlessly charming man who brings his niece to the children’s weekend book group. Really, she’s already winning, and she doesn’t expect anything else to come of it. But there’s a blonde girl with a sunshine smile who stops by the café almost every other day, and Aline wonders whether maybe the summer’s greatest joys are yet to be found.

I'm sorry but does this mean that the deadline for adding the fic to the collection is august first (or july 31st)? Or by midnight today, when the fics are supposed to be finished?

Sorry if it wasn’t clear, the writers’ deadline was 29th July so all works (ideally) needed to be added to the AO3 collection by then. 

The collection has just been revealed but you can still add your fic today!

Posting instructions

Hey everyone!

We've almost reached the end of this year's Shadowhunters Big Bang and hope all of you had fun and are ready for posting on August 1st! The mods would like to thank you for participating - we're all very excited to see what you've created!

As a reminder, the deadlines are as follows:

All works MUST be finished by midnight on July 29th

All art MUST be finished by midnight on July 30th

Works cannot be published to Tumblr or other non AO3 sites until August 1st.

To explain how posting and submission is going to work:

AUTHORS

We have created an AO3 collection for this event. All work must be added to this collection before the deadline. The works will be revealed August 1st - this means that even if you add your work early, it will remain hidden until the posting date.

The work itself should include any archive warnings, triggers, and other relevant tags, as well as credit to your artist and beta. The only prerequisite regarding word count is that you hit the one you signed up for, e. g. multi-chapter fics for a 10k mini-bang should have a combined word count of 10k at the time of the deadline regardless of whether the story is finished or not. Your subsequent posting schedule is entirely up to you.

For those posting their fic early to the collection: don't forget that the published date will not be the reveal date and your fic will appear differently on AO3 if sorted by published date.

Tumblr posting will be done by the artists (see below). Should you not have an artist, or just want to post it yourself as well, please dont forget to tag it #shbigbang2019 so we can see and reblog it!
