✧ Quills bristled slightly beneath his helmet - he had been spotted staring. Not the best way to start a possible friendly interaction… The hedgehog did relax his stance a little though; from her tone, he’d identified enough to know she wouldn’t be a threat to this zone. Why he’d even thought that-… She certainly didn’t look it. Zonic gave her a slight nod of acknowledgement, tilting his visor back from his eyes as he made his way over at her question, still respectfully keeping his distance.
“I do apologize; you just caught my gaze. It’s alright; you can stay,” he admitted calmly, offering a soft smile. “You don’t, look from around here though. Is there, anything I can help with?”
He’d been to all corners of the multiverse, but her appearance was unfamiliar to him. From what he could gather, something had been wrong and caused her to come here - she was obviously paranoid by something. He’d take it steady; ask only when he needed to. ✧
Staring up at him from her place on the bench, she felt her heart racing as her body told her to run. Not because she thought he was a threat, it was how she felt about anyone she didn’t know. Since being stranded in this timeline, she felt as if the universe was out to punish her. Perhaps she did deserve it on some level after all she had been part of the council. She was no more innocent of the crimes of the council then the others were.
His thoughts drifted into her mind, it wasn’t something she did on purpose or with intention. Surface thoughts were hard to block out, but it at least put her at ease. His voice further calmed her, causing her to visibly calm down and relax her eyes drifting down to grass at her feet. She felt foolish for being so paranoid but, considering everything she’d been through? Did she not have a right to think it could come for her at any moment? She could never really escape it could she?
Her eyes lifted to meet his after a long moment and she forced a smile
“ Is it so Obvious? I guess i do stand out huh? perhaps i should see about a more fitting outfit. “
She was trying her best to be lighthearted about the situation but it was starting to get to her, the loss of Silver.
“ Oh, i don’t think there is anything you can do to Help me Sir. I appreciate the offer but, i’m just waiting for my friends... I...I...I’m sure they’ll find me soon! its only been a few days... surely they’ll find me.“

Whisper wasn’t sure if the confusion on the other was genuine or a result of being rattled with everything that was going on such as the smoke filling the air and the constant firing noises around them however at least the tenrec was going to follow her to somewhere safer…
As such, the wolf remain close to the girl as protection so that if any stray robots get near them; she could easily shoot it down without having to worry about where the other was and she didn’t get caught in the crossfire or captured by the robots.
There was a moment of silence from the wolf when the girl brought attention to the other people that were in the buildings; some of them being on fire. She pressed her mouth to a thin line.
Whisper didn’t want to abandon the people that were trapped and she wanted to save them however there was only so much she could do on her own especially when she needed to keep other people safe and fight against the robots.
“….Don’t want to leave them but I can only do much… I… Need to get you to safety where other people who are fighting can protect you then I can help the other people that are trapped.”
She hated the thought of having to abandoned people or keeping them waiting when they needed help.
Her eyes turned to the burning buildings, trying to shut out the voices of the village, those trapped and worse. For Gold it was a sea of voices swirling in her mind, and it was no easy thing for her to just walk away. But unlike Whisper she was no soldier, nor did she have telekinesis like silver to help those in danger. In this moment she realized again how helpless she was, and again felt that weight pressing down on her shoulders. Just like so many times before, she could do NOTHING to save those in need. Just like she could do nothing to save her family, she was helpless here to.
She turned taking a step to follow the wolf but her body stopped in her movement, and her lips curled into a frown. She promised she wouldn’t do this, that she wouldn’t get involved. But could she really walk away again? could she let people die if she had the power to save them? Gold looked up to the wolf and her ears laid back, and her eyes looked desperate and sullen. No she couldn’t do anything could she? powerless once more in the face of adversity she could do nothing.
“ I... I know you are right, no one can save everyone. I just--- i just wish i was stronger... I wish i could do more. “
She Spoke with a mournful tone, how she wished she could do more
“ I’ll stay close, please lead the way--- and.... thank you “
She felt a tear well up in the corner of her eyes, she was still so ---useless wasn’t she?

The signs of uncertainty were nothing that surprising to Dan, but he passed them off as the usual reasons for why people may be cautious with his presence, being a stranger and having a limb that looked dangerously twisted and sharp. Some people naturally would never get over that detail, there was no way for him to get the idea there was much more in the Tenrec’s mind than what he was assuming.
“Believe me you wouldn’t be, The only matter I’m doing is patrolling, which is both for dangers and to ensure people are ok from such things, fortunately for me there’s been nothing dangerous.” Once more attempting to ease any concerns on the subject but also getting the sense of why they were so timid about accepting it.
What was the right call on wanting to help someone who seemed to need it but didn’t want it? Watch from afar? Pondering away inwardly to himself before adding on. “If you’d rather be alone that’s fine, I can relate to that at times, but I assure you its not going to bother me in any way if you do want help getting there.”
“And believe me, I’ve seen much stranger than you in the woods hehe.” Unable to stop himself jokingly saying that.
She was nervous, there was no getting around it really, she was in a strange world, in a strange place in front of a strange man. Her nature was to hide, run away or cower in a hole. But she reminded herself that, was how she ended up trapped in a city, ruled by madmen. She had to be more like Silver, to take iniative! to be strong just as he was!
She clutched her hands to her chest and smiled, trying her best to appear friendly, and social. His appearance did less to effect her then one might think--- she was use to seeing oddities in her world. So his was nothing to out of the ordinary, different maybe but not to bombastic. Her eyes shifted at his offer, and she initially did wish to say no and yet, she found herself unable to deny that she could use a guide.
“ Well... if you do not mind, i would be remiss if i did not take you up on such an offer. I’m very much not the outdoors type, and being out here on my own--- not my best idea “
“ I’d very much appreciate the assistance, the last thing i want is to be alone... “
“ Though if i may ask, what are you patrolling for? is it really so dangerous out here? “

“A bit self taught, a bit of lessons from some skilled chefs. I’ve gotten around to more than a few worlds.” Lottie answers her question casually, as she directs a few more of the bats that appear above her hand with a flick of the wrist.
In response the bats go flying and prep the kettle as she rounded the counter to the kitchen doors, “Do you like tea? Or would you prefer hot chocolate or coffee?” She lingered by the door, pushing it open enough to send a few of the bats into the kitchen to get the lights and equipment turned on. She was enjoying watching Gold relax some in the moment, and taking note of that last comment.
She’d seen her own collection of talented and skilled individuals in her travels, even if she wouldn’t always openly talk about it herself. Some of the places she has been weren’t really ones she could talk about in more peaceful worlds like this. A sort of protocol if you will, keeping her skating just under the radar of some “over eager” types.
With a brief thought she made one more stardust bat in her hands, a bit larger and far more solid than the others flying about. She then loosed it to fly around the room making a sort of soft ringing sound as it “cries” before it landed on the table closest to Gold. Unlike the others it did no dissipate into a puff of glittering stardust and instead wiggled back and forth on the table.
It was obvious she made this for Gold to examine in the mean time.
Gold would lie if she told herself that she was not interested in the little balls of glitter, but she had seen a plethora of strangeness in her lifetime. So this wasn’t the oddest thing she’d ever saw, no that probably belonged to that boy who could create marmalade constructs with his mind---why marmalade? who knew! but that’s what he could do! She tried her best to remain calm, and content and just enjoy the moment, despite how distressed she was inside. But this place was calming and it did much to keep her nerves in check, and keep her own power in check as well.
Her ears twitched at the question, she had nary a clue what chocolate was, but tea and coffee she was familiar with! Normally she’d have Coffee in the morning, but right now she needed something to keep her calm, and focused. She turned her head and forced a smile across her face “ Oh some tea would be nice... Jasmine maybe? “ She asked with a tilt of her head, unsure what all was available but also trying to be polite.
She tried to let her mind drift off the others work, and to think of her next move but, the bat that landed on her table had surprised her. Making her quills stand on end for a moment, before they settled back down. She was obviously jumpy, and skittish and not just because of being lost. No it was deeper then that and it didn’t take a genius to realize it.
“ Oh...umm h...hi? aren’t you a strange little guy... i wonder how---intelligent they are....”

“Well you’re doing great so far if you’re still moving and talking while being overwhelmed by this experience.” Lottie reassures her with a grin before stopping at a storefront that has all the blinds drawn. The logo on the windows was a pink heart with Liddel Café written in white cursive, and the sign in the window of the door was flipped to closed. She wasted no time unlocking the door with a key that looked like it was made of stardust and ushered Gold to follow her in as the door chime rung. “I can make a good curry, and it’s been a while too since I’ve made it, so I’m going to have some fun in the kitchen for you. Now come on in and take a seat anywhere you like.” She slipped inside and leaned out from behind the door to keep talking to her as she reached up to flip the sign over to open. Behind her there were a few tiny bats made of stardust that flitted around the room in view turning on lights, turning around stock signs and pulling open the blinds. Lottie made no effort to hide that she was the one who made and controlled the tiny entities, as they disappeared into her hair as a puff of glitter when they completed each task.
The layout and décor of the café was best described as homey in appearance. There was a sort of elegance to the slightly rustic look of the tables and chairs, and the art on the walls varied between landscape paintings, detailed land maps and star maps. It was made to be welcoming, mirroring the demeanor and pride of the owner.
Her eyes slid down to the floor, as she didn’t think she was doing so well as the other believed. Between her timelines destruction, silver vanishing and her own inability to find any kind of income or resource to help her forward. She felt very trapped in this place even now. Where was Silver? or the Professor? she had come to grips with the harsh reality that they may have ended up in a different time, or timeline or worse--- she was very likely alone. She had no one to rely on and even now she felt as if she was relying on strangers.
Her thoughts broke when she saw the strange little fluttering creatures whizz about the room, and watched them with soft awe. She’d seen a great number of psychic abilities in her timeline, many of which she documented and researched and graded. This was different though or it felt different, something almost super natural about it, but they were so cute! Her dour thoughts chased away for a moment at the very least. Just who was this woman? and what sort of power did she possess?
Gold found herself wandering about the shop now looking closer at the décor which was so different from her own times. Her eyes went to the kitchen for a long moment “ Curry sounds nice, where did you learn to cook? did you go to a school? or was it more---self taught? “ She was not one to judge but it was idle conversation. Anything to keep her mind off the tragedy of future events, and her own plight.
“ I think i have vague memory of my parents cooking Curry... but i wasn’t very old so, i don’t remember much other then the smell....”

Whisper raised an eyebrow behind the mask when the girl asked her those questions as she thought the other would know what was going on and what those robots were, considering who owns the robot… However, there was no harm in telling the other…
In fact, it was far better to inform the person then to ignore the questions so that they knew what was happening and could avoid the trouble later if she ever encounters any of the robots in the future.
“Eggman’s Robots…. Badniks…. And to capture the residents… Force them to serve the Eggman’s Empire.” Whisper answered; making her voice loudly then usually instead of the quiet voice that she usually used. Soon the wolf looked around, her ears twitching, before looking back at the gold hedgehog.
There was still gunfire happening around them and she could still hear some of the machines stomping around. She needed to get the stranger to a safe place so that she wasn’t worrying about the other’s safety.
“Will escort to safe spot…. There’s still more of them… Don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
She was beyond confused, and the more smoke filled the air, and the more gunfire rang through the streets the more panicked she became. In her time nothing like this had ever threatened them! Sure they had other worries, like the lack of food and water. The occasional bandit group, and the Robians that would sometimes cross into there territory. But for the most part War was not something that threatened Onyx City.
“ Badniks? Eggman? an--- Empire? of Eggs? “
The more Whisper spoke the more lost the hedgehog girl looked, and the more frightened she got. But if nothing else Gold prided herself on keeping a cool head in bad situations or trying to at least. She did not want to be a burden like she had been for silver, and so with a fearful look in her eyes she simply nodded to the young soldier with a worried glance back.
Gold Moved with Whisper staying as close as she could, and trying not to trip over her own two feet. She wasn’t a clutz but she was also not really in an outfit designed to be running around in a battle field. She could still sense people in the village, some still in smoking buildings, or maybe even trapped. Could this woman sense that? She could because of her Telepathy but, how many people were still in trouble? Should she say anything? She couldn’t stand by and do nothing could she?
“ What about the people in the other buildings? are we going to leave them? “

If there was one thing that Whisper learnt to accept in her life; it was that she would keep fighting regardless if the world was against her and the odds wasn’t in her favour. It was something that was sewed into her mind and soul and it was something she wouldn’t change as it allowed her to survive in a cruel world that threaten to break anything it could get it hands on….
Regardless who or what they were.
It’s why the wolf fought so hard and why she was currently fighting some of Eggman’s robots, mainly some egg pawns, that managed to get in the local town that she was staying in and when she spotted one of the robot apporaching a golden female hedgehog; she quickly aimed and…
Destroyed the robot in a single shot. Then she approached the girl.
“… Are you okay?”
Since Arriving in this time line, Gold had never given up hope of finding Silver or the Professor. Wandering from City to City, and Town to Town looking for some sign they made it. But this world came with its own dangers, and threats, many of which she had little to no concept about. In her timeline much of this times history was either different, or lost entirely. Two hundred years is a long time, things change and history is easily lost or muddled by the authors who recorded it. So she had little concept of who or what an Eggman was let alone just what sort of threat he was.
It had all happened so fast, first the alarms, then the gunfire, and smoke filling her lungs. She was no stranger to smoke, or disasters after all those were VERY common in her timeline. But this was wholly different, and by the time she could see and breath well enough to rationalize what was happening, the machine was looming in front of her.
She felt herself fall backwards, tripping over a rock or maybe it was her own two feet--- in all fairness She had bigger problems to deal with. She was scared no doubt, between the gunfire and a machine looming overhead why wouldn’t she be scared? but not as much as one might assume as she grabbed a rock and plinked it off the things head. If she had just a few moments maybe she could use he telepathy to hide herself! But she never got the chance--- it was over in a flash.
A Bolt of energy tore through the machine, and she scrambled backwards as the machine fell to the ground. Looking up the Wolf looming above her, she was unsettled but only for a moment. The voice was modulated? She wore a mask not so different from the one in her own pack, though it was probably more functional and less a symbol.
“ I--- I think so, whats going on? who or what are those? why are they attacking the village...”
A Glimpse into the Future...
The room was dark, like the inky black void of the end of time. But She knew well it was all deception, just an illusion created by the council to hide there dirty laundry. As a member of the Council she was privy to much, and just as guilty as the rest for the crimes that she helped them facilitate. Perhaps it was why this dream still haunted her--- yet she couldn’t escape the horrible truth. That as much as she tried to make amends by helping Silver. She was just as much a part of it as the rest. Yet wasn’t she also a victim? If she had said no they would have just used the mask on her, like they had so many times before.
She felt herself walking forward even if she didn’t want to. Her eyes drifting through the shadows as a single light shone from above. The table coming into stark clarity. The person on the table struggling to be free, yet there was no escape from the fate the council had for them. She was lead to the table by #1, she was never given names after all this time. Just a number--- but he also liked to be called Father. She hated that, she had a father but now? she couldn’t even remember him. Only this terrible man and the others who raised her to be a perfect little weapon.
His voice still rung in her ears “ You know what to do Gold... its for his own good “ She heard him say. But deep down she knew this was wrong, that what they were doing was akin to genocide. Her eyes falling to the young feline on the table, her ears folding to the side. “ Must we? “ She heard her voice echo in that chamber as her doubt filled her. “ We must--- for the future of the city we must “ His voice was so full of conviction. He truly believed in what he was doing, after all this time he still didn’t see them, or her as anything more then a threat.
She let her hand reach forward to place on the others forehead, Her eyes growing more saddened by the second. She tried to soothe them with her voice “ Just relax, you won’t feel anything “ She told them. But they only sobbed louder, a sound she would never let herself forget. She let her mind curl around there own, and slowly she tore away what made them who they were. Personality, emotions, memories. She removed it one bit at a time until they were practically a hollow shell. But she had to live through those memories, she had to experience those emotions, she had to endure the sadness until the very end.
And when she was done--- There was nothing left but a shell, a Psychic devoid of personality who would follow what ever order you gave them. That was the fate of so many others. The lights came on finally, and the rows and rows of tubes filling the room, within’ each another lobotomized psychic. This was her Sin, the greatest crime that the council ever perpetuated. Gathering Psychics for there research... to make into weapons.
