Moments I adore in Good Omens (TV series)

Sometimes I just randomly think of a moment from 'A Companion to Owls' and then my brain hops to another, then another, and I love how rich and wonderful (and silly!) that single episode of television is. It's its own little story and often exists quite on its own in my mind but I'm going to start with the closing shot - this moment, the understanding, the weight and significance of it as Aziraphale and Crowley sit side by side, together yet quite alone, is one of the most beautiful and palpable to me and I adore it.

(I plan to start posting these little moments from episodes as often as they pop into my head - they're in no particular order!)

there are a lot of Extremely Married moments in good omens, but I maintain that the Most Married moment is when crowley says out of nowhere, “ducks! they’re what water slides off.” and aziraphale heaves a deeply put-upon sigh and says, “….just drive the car.”

a close runner up is when Aziraphale wants to do magic at Warlock’s birthday party and Crowley just goes, “Make you disappear”, and Aziraphale’s not put out in the slightest

It’s not a tag I search specifically. If the story looks good, I’ll roll with whatever. I have favorites where Aziraphale is quite dominant and I have favorites where Crowley wants control so he can give Aziraphale pleasure. I also write them as switches most of the time.

All of this too, to the point of canon.

On Tumblr, I come off as being so uber for the finale. But the very truth is I'm in the middle.

I can appreciate what the story tried to do and see beauty and positives and points. But I can also see where it diverges from expectation and leaves want.

It is possible to feel both things about a creative work. And all it is, is a suggestion.

My works before the finale had some very similiar themes, but done differently. Because walk into any artroom of any school or community where people are asked to draw "a thing" and you get as many different and beautiful versions of that thing as there are people.

Because art pieces are like snowflakes that way. We all see something different.

And it's a wonderful thing when we do. 💚
