I just wanted to share that nothing and no one could ever give you what volunteering at a facility for people struggling with drug addiction can give you. Being in contact with one of the most misunderstood groups in society opened my eyes in the most profound way & It allowed me to meet some of the softest, gentlest, most humble, intelligent, and funniest human beings I’ve ever met.

Seeing real people and hearing their stories expands your capacity for empathy in ways you can’t fully understand until you experience it yourself. I went in thinking I was the one who would be helping and giving something to them, but it turned out to be the other way around? Life can be so strange.

I find it fascinating…the amount of extremely horny people on here with no ability to verbally communicate their wants and desires in a way that could actually be received in a stimulating way by the other party. So strange…

Have we reached the point where we’ve become so obsessed with polishing our exteriors and upgrading the physical aspect that we’ve completely forgotten that true, unfiltered eroticism starts in the mind and travels through space and time with the help of the language that we speak & the words that we intentionally choose to express it?

I, unlike many others these days, do not despise small talk. It's quite the opposite, actually. I think small talk is a great introduction to a conversation's "vibe" - a way to check the temperature and see whether the other person, or group of people, is interested in engaging in a social exchange. I do, however, have a huge issue when people can't transition from small talk into an actual conversation. There's only so much you can say about the weather, the stock market, or your mom's ear infection caused by a bacteria you can't pronounce. At some point, you have to open up and allow yourself to be intellectually vulnerable to see how you're received. Everything is a risk. That's how we learn. :)
