I’m at a loss. I feel so disillusioned with the situation going on in Armenia right now and the fact that the world isn’t paying attention and doesn’t care. There are human rights and war crime offenses being committed by Azerbaijan, but nobody seems to give a shit. I based my whole career path off of this glorious idea of international law and justice and human rights, but right now none of these institutions the ICC, the UN, the ICJ – NO ONE! - is stepping up to condemn Aliyev and Erdogan. Tomorrow I’m supposed to be taking a test that will determine my US law school admittance but right now I can find no inspiration or motivation to try. The world hasn’t shown up for my people, not 100 years ago when the Turks committed genocide against them, and not now. People are self interested, and the words of a hero ring in my ear that no one, no outside organization, nor higher powers that be, will stand for Armenia and Artsakh’s self determination and right to exist. It’s in the hands of my people alone. At this point I honestly want to just throw away everything I’ve been working for, move to Armenia and volunteer in local NGOs. I’m disconnected from half of my identity, from my identity as an American, and really my identity as a human at this point.

Día de Muertos Skeleton Mexico-based artist Raymundo Medina built a massive skeleton that appears to be lurching out of the pavement on a street in Santa Cecilia Tláhuac, Mexico. Piles of crumbled concrete at the places where the skeleton is connected to the street create the illusion that it is bursting through the asphalt.

BOTHAM JEAN (Shot at home, which police officer mistook for her own. Officer found GUILTY of murder ⭐)

OSCAR GRANT (Handcuffed and face-down, officer shot him in the back. Officer found GUILTY of involuntary manslaughter ⭐)

COREY JONES (Waiting by his disabled vehicle, was shot three times by police officer, who was found GUILTY of murder ⭐)
