It was a rather decent day so Hannibal had decided to take a walk. He had given Falkor permission to fly off, explore a bit, but most importantly to stretch his wings. The bird had made a circle above his master before coming back down to land on his shoulder. He reached up to run his middle and pointer finger along the front of the birdâs chest. He heard the excitement and looked in the direction of the woman who spoke. He couldnât help but smile, loving the compliments that he got from his bird. Mostly loving the compliments on his care. It made him feel good to know that he was properly taking care of him. âYes, he is. HIs name is FalkorâŠâ He grinned, looking up at the bird who stretched up tall and spread his wings out as if to show off his beauty. âSilly beast, such a flirt and so vainâŠâ Â
âI do believe that he would love you forever for fruit and seeds. It also wouldnât hurt if he had just a bite of pumpkin bread if you wanted the bonus points. He gets the occasionally unhealthy snack as a treat.â He held out his hand in her direction and smiled weakly. âIt is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Evernever. I am Hannibal Mayakovsky. But please, call me Hannibal.â
âFalkor?â She seemed to be enchanted by the name, her hand already gathering some of the seeds from her bag to offer them out to the bird. âOh, he is very much allowed to be so vain! Look at him! Heâs gorgeous.â She chuckled, finding it exciting to be so close to an animal like this one. While she didnât often get to pass by the animals in the building, Dora often felt like she would be asking for more judgment if she tried to be kind to any of the Magizoologists. The last thing needed was for creatures to be used to make her stop her habits.Â
âItâs a pleasure to meet you, Hannibal. Here, you are deserving of a treat as well! I tend to bake far more than I know what to do with, and Iâm always happy to see someone isnât looking to me like some criminal for offering sweets.â The idea of âkilling with kindnessâ was another way of going about it, though. Sometimes, she wondered if thatâs what she was doing when it came to those that looked at her like some kind of nut. âIâve never seen you before, I certainly would have remembered Falkor if I had seen him. Are you new?âÂ
