It doesn’t take much to send Royce scared and stammering. He’s very skittish, you see, more akin to the most timid of kittens than the large, bipedal murder wolves that make up the Fenrir. There just so happens to be a very long list of people who send him all kinds of anxious the second he catches sight of them and, no surprises here, de Carabas is somewhere near the top of it.

Charming as he is-- and everything he did for Door!-- Royce is always worried that he’s going to put his foot in it and make a powerful enemy for the stupidest reason. So that’s the reason for his wide-eyed, doe-in-the-headlights look that’s currently stuck well and truly to his face.

‘ You’re, ah, you’re looking very flash today. Not that you don’t-- always. ’ A beat. It’s about as awkward as Royce always is. ‘ Today’s not a fantastic day for hanging around the Fenrir, I’m just warning you. Pack disputes. Very messy. You’d ruin that lovely coat of yours. ’
