“Awesome. Let me find a vase and a card for you to fill out.” She disappeared behind the counter for a second and came back with the flowers arranged in a nice bouquet, a soft blue ribbon wrapped around the neck. “Here we go!” She said. “What do you think?!”

It was really past time Lilo did something nice for Nani after everything she’d done for them. Her eyes lit up when she saw the finished arrangement. “I love it! She’s gonna love it! The blue really ties it together, thank you.” Pulling her backpack off her shoulders, she started fishing around for the bills at the bottom. “How much do I owe you?”

“Of course, sweetheart.” She sat them aside and leaned over the counter in contemplation. “Tell you what…. Just this once, I won’t charge you money. But you have to come back and tell me if you were able to find what you needed. I’m invested now and I need to know how it goes.”

Aurora pulled her sweater around her as she turned, gently pulling a bright, full bouquet of the happy little flowers. “What lucky timing!” Ro smiled “they just came in so they’re nice and fresh.” She set them on the counter for her to look at, ruffling a hand through her wild hair as she waited.

Allison returned her enthusiasm, walking towards the shops counter. “Oh, thank you so much. I think these should brighten up my place quite nicely.” Pulling out her wallet from her purse she met the blondes gaze. “How much for these?” She asked, not sure if she should use her card or left over cash she had in her wallet. “You have a lovely shop here, I’ve always wanted to stop by and I wish I had came in sooner.”

Ro smiled as she prepared the flowers for Allison, tucking them away nicely before passing them to her. “These will be twenty.” She grinned. “We’ll thank you. It’s my pride and joy if I’m being honest. I always wanted to own a flower shop and it’s just nice to be here among them all.”

“Honestly, she’s amazing but Peter Parker is my favorite,” she told him with a hint of amusement in her voice. “An average boy with extraordinary circumstances put upon him.” She paused. “Perhaps… if the keys aren’t invisible… we can hit the lock button twice and the lights will flash?”

“Gosh, if I had to pick a favorite…” Fred just trailed off. He wouldn’t even know where to start. “Right, the lights would still have to work so you could see to drive at night.” This woman had the right idea. “You know what? You’re a genius. I’m Fred, and you’re a genius.”

She laughed in surprise. “We’ll goodness!” She clapped her hands in pure joy at his compliment. “I can honestly say I’ve never heard that before in my whole life. I’ll take it though.” She laughed “My name’s aurora, by the way.” She offered her hand to shake.

Her smile made Ro’s smile grow as she quickly jotted her friend’s address down for her. “As for flowers…. Hm. Might I suggest daisies or chrysanthemums? Beautiful, chipper little flowers at an affordable price.”

Lilo thanked her again, folding the paper and slipping it in her pocket. That would be her next stop today. “You’re the expert,” she nodded. “If you say they’re chipper, I believe you.”

At his words aurora almost melted at her spot at the counter. Most of her customers were men trying to make up a mistake they had made to their wife. It was hardly ever something so sweet anymore which was, quite honestly sad. She bounced on her toes, barely able to keep herself calm. “Oh, that is so sweet! I would be more than happy to help you pick something out for her!” She tugged a catalogue from beneath a pair of pruning shears and flipped it open to a bunch of yellow and pink sunflowers. “These are my favorite. So bright and wonderful without breaking the bank. Plus, it’s very hard not to have a smile on your face when you look at them.”

HERCULES smiled gratefully as he let himself relax a little in the presence of the sales assistant, he had always thought of coming in and admiring the wonderfully arranged bouquets of flowers but he always chickened out at the last minute. He was happy now he had an excuse to come and explore. “Thank you very much– I would usually only buy for my Mother but she’s in Europe and I don’t think flowers would survive the trip.” he explained with a faint and awkward chuckle. Hercules scanned the page taken away by how perfectly the colors complimented each other, he had a feeling Mrs.Odie would love them. “They are beautiful, they really do put a smile on your face.” he grinned. “Do they come with ribbon? Oooh and a card?”

She laughed, delighted with his reaction. “No. I usually recommend calling a local flower shop for orders like that.” She moved to go look at a case and glanced up at him, her accented voice soft and a bit concerned. “Europe. My you’re far from home!” She didn’t press for answers but if he needed to talk she would certainly listen. It was one thing she was incredibly good at, after all. “They do! And I’ll throw in a nice vase too. Which do you like best?” She set two on the counter so he could pick. “I’m sorry I don’t have any glass ones. But the plastic serves a purpose…. Let me make a note to write out an order while I’m thinking on it.” She quickly jotted down a note and smiled up at him, awaiting his answer.

Aurora grinned at her reaction and smiled widely to show that she was just teasing the girl. She paused and cocked her head to the side and ‘hmmed’ softly. “I’ll be honest with you… I thought you did that with crystals.” She wiggles her nose as she flicked through the large book on her tabletop. “Let me give you the address for a friend of mine. She’s better versed in things like that. Then if I have anything you need I would be more than happy to share what I have with you. How does that sound?”

So this wasn’t a dead end! Lilo was excited she was onto something, maybe. She had some crystals at home, but they were supposedly healing and reduced anxiety. And truth be told, she didn’t know much about them at all. “That would be great,” she smiled, “thank you. I’ll also get some flowers too while I’m here, for my sister. What do you have that’s cheap but pretty?”

Aurora watched as the girl walked in and looked around. She leaned over the counter and listened as the girl requested mugwort. To say she wasn’t a bit shocked at the girl’s request would definitely be a lie. Still, she decided to help her even if it was to point her in the other direction. She pulled a rather large book of flowers from under the counter and began to flip through it. “Let me see,” she said in a softly accented voice. “I don’t sell it here but I see that mugwort is commonly used to boost energy and calm nerves. If you’re looking for that I might have some herbal tea that could serve the same purpose….” She trailed off and arched a brow. “Unless you’re trying to poison someone.”

“Of course not.” Lilo’s eyes widened slightly. There were a few people she’d like to throat punch, but poison was too far. Even for her. Besides – if she was going to poison someone, she wouldn’t blow her own cover by buying said poison from the town she lived in. “The tea sounds nice, but not quite what I’m looking for. Do you have anything else for astral projection?”

Aurora hadn’t meant to get caught up in the young man’s incredible flight of fancy. She was supposed to be in town buying ingredients for soup for her and her mother when she stopped to listen to him talk. When he stopped to catch his breath she giggled and pushed her hair from her face. “It sounds like you and Wonder Woman could be great friends… although it might be hard to remember where you parked an invisible car….”

“I’d love to be friends with Wonder Woman, that’d be wicked.” A goofy grin broke across Fred’s expression. It would be his dream to hang out with superheroes. He’d read enough of comics to feel like he had. “Oh, you’re right. Shit. We’d have to figure out a way to combat that. Maybe… a really loud clicker? Or… a transparent option, one that only turns on with a switch so people don’t ram into your parked car either.”

Aurora hummed as she worked with the fake flowers in the window of the small flower and gift shop. She hated working with fake flowers but her window displays required something a bit more long lasting than the stems she kept in the freezers around the space. She tucked stems and worked to make the bouquets full, knowing she had to sell her work to anyone who might walk by before they even came into Buds. She heard the bell jingled merrily and she stood up. “Hello hello!” She chirruped. “How can I help you today?”

Allison had been meaning to stop by the flower shop in town for quite some time now. Although she was also subconsciously avoiding it too. It just reminded her too much of Wes. However it was a rather nice day out today, it was partly cloudy which was as bright as it was ever going to get in Prentiss. Her apartment needed some serious uplifting, and Allison thought flowers would do just the trick. Walking in Allison was immediately hit by the aroma of all types of flowers. Honestly the smell alone was enough to lift her spirits. “Hi, I was wondering if you sold any peonies and maybe some baby's breath too, they’re my favorite.”

HERCULES was not very good as choosing gifts, no matter what the occasion was or whether he was going for big or small he somehow always got it wrong. Despite having the best intentions at any given moment he still often made a mess of his loved ones birthdays... which was why he usually needed a helping hand. “Hi--hello!” he beamed excitedly, letting the door shut behind him as he took a step inside. “I’m looking for something nice for my neighbor. --she’s kind of old and silly but its her first birthday without her husband-- do you have anything for young men clearly out of their depth?”
