Duck egg
I made a pysanka for mother’s day. My mom’s side of the family is Finnish so I made it with an iconic Marimekko design I grew up always having in the house. I’ve been wanting to do this egg idea for a while now!
Born to be wild
The lady on the scooter was an artist named Szabó Éva (sadly she passed away 4 years ago). She decorated the scooter herself, and as far as I know she could have embroidered the dress herself too, as she was absolutely skilled at the craft and often gave away tapestries to churches.
She worked on cars too (as well as easter eggs, besides teaching folk dance):
She learned the art of Kalocsa patterns from her mother and she believed in keeping the folk motifs alive so passionately that she reportedly told she’d paint an entire house or airplane kalocsai if anyone asked her.
She, as well as the traditional Kalocsa patterns/embroidery, are Hungarian!
First egg of my apartment! It’s been so long since i made an egg! I missed it, it was a lot of fun making this little guy.
Now that i have space in my new apartment for all of my pysanky supplies, im back at it again!! I haven't even finished with the white yet but I'm so excited, i had to go ahead & post it!
photograph more egg, please
This is very sweet :) I appreciate you asking! Unfortunately I left my egg making supplies behind when I moved, but you know what, I should get those supplies back & start making them again! I appreciate the encouragement!
A lazy day after work got cancelled, felt like working on an egg
The first chapter of Genesis written on an egg
This egg is only half finished but I’m excited & wanted to post the progress! I based the designs off of stained glass windows & am being very careful with the symmetry.
My little lesbian egg! I was looking for egg inspiration when I heard about violets in historical wlw courtships & thus this egg came about! Very simple, even for a tiny bantam egg (pictured next to chicken egg for scale).
New egg! The bleaching compromised the egg a bit so there's some speckling due to dye seeping through the pores, but I'm happy with it! Doing the divisions for all the circles was tricky!

First time writing a Bantam egg- Look how tiny!
A 500-year-old Easter egg was found during excavations in Lviv, the press service of the Rescue Archaeological Service of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has reported.
According to the report, the pysanka (a Ukrainian ornate Easter egg) was found in a water collector dated to the 15th-16th centuries, on Shevska Street in the central part of the city at a depth of 5.5 meters.
This is the oldest Easter egg found by Lviv archaeologists to date.
"Previously, Kyivan Rus pysankas dated to the 12th-13th centuries were found in Zhydachiv, Lviv region, and Khrinnyky in Volyn region, but these were ceramic eggs. This one is made on an egg shell, most likely from a goose egg. And it is very well preserved, almost 90 percent," a junior research officer of the Rescue Archaeological Service, Ostap Lazurko, said.

I made this egg last Easter for a girl I was into whose patron saint is St. Joan. Honestly this is my favorite egg I've ever made.
Didn’t have the time to get as many eggs done as usual this Easter, but I’m hoping to get some more done this week even if it is a little late. I’m working on a tiny little Bantam chicken egg right now!
I just took the wax off- I love this design!
