Something people forget often is that like the voyagers/metros are raging homophobes but like they didn’t actually pull that much shit with Shane over it because it was Shane Hollander-the main issue was that it was Ilya he was gay for - Montreal was willing to have a homo for a captain albeit heavily begrudgingly but they were completely willing to tank the team once they found out who their captain was with and that’s the awful part because not only can Shane not control how he loves but he couldn’t control Who he loves and these people he gave a decade to couldn’t forgive him for that
