i love queerplatonic relationships where one of them is aroace and the other isn't. i love when the allo character has a crush that fades over time. i love when they don't care what they are to each other as long as they're together. i love when romance is an option that they don't choose. i love when both aros and allos feel fulfilled without romance or sex.

what even is romantic attraction? is it just the want to be in a romantic relationship with someone or is it some kind of love? idk i just don't understand what the term actually means

in theory it is a desire to be in a romantic relationship with a specific person / specific people and to do romantic things with them. i am told that many to most alloromantic people just know what it is when they feel it.
i am also told that describing the feeling is like being asked to describe the color red, and also that no one has ever come up with a satisfactory and well agreed upon definition of what it feels like.
in general, if you're asking and most of your age group is experiencing crushes or romantic attraction... welcome to the aro spec, we have so many questions and no answers either.

This is true but I'm gonna be controversial for a second and say that I feel bad for jocks who get hit with The Injury™️too. The Injury™️ fucking sucks, man. Having something that everyone praised you for when you were young suddenly betray you and having to grapple with both a sudden loss of ability (whether it's something that can be recovered from or not) and figure out what your future looks like now that the one you had imagined for yourself (whether it was actually realistic or not) feels like it's been snatched away is brutal.
Yeah, like, maybe we shouldn't be shaming/making fun of people for either of these things!
