the first work, Mao describes the Marixst theory of knowledge, the stages through with perception moves to knowledge. the dialectical cycle of the contradiction between the external world and consciousness which first leads to perceptual knowledge, and then through study and analysis to rational knwoledge, and how knowledge can be used to interact and change the external world in ways that allows this cycle to repeat, until the most appropriate theory and thus practice can develop!
as a work by mao, it is written in simple language and is meant to be approachable by the vast masses of people. it's a must study to understand how we, as Marxist, must interact with the world to develop correct practice!
2. On contradiction by Mao!
this work describes contradicton, which forms the basis of dialectics, their properties and how to understand them, and their self movement. Materialist Dialectics forms the fundamental all encompassing world view of Marxism and thus it is essential to understand dialectics.
3. Conspectus on Hegel's science of logic by Lenin!
this is a difficult work, however, is much, much more profound than Lenin's prior philosophical work- materialism and emperio criticism. many of the mechanistic materialist erros of Engels adoped by lenin had been shed in this work, and materialist dialectics were described and understood in their most fundamental form. it includes many, many quotes from Hegel which Lenin had jotted down, annotations and commentaries by Lenin. it is all in all a very significant work.
4. Conspectus on Hegel's Philosophy of history by Lenin!
this is also a collection of quotes, commentaries, and annotations by lenin on Hegel's Philosophy of history. it's a much short work, but captures the kernel of historical materialism.
5. Dialectical logic by illyenkov!
a profound and difficult work, where illyenkov traced the history of philosophical Dialectics from Descartes to hegel, from feuerbach to marx, and then described several important problems of Dialectics, such as the materialist dialectical notion of thought and consciousness, philosophical monism, etc.
6. The holy Family, by Marx and Engels!
an important work by marx and Engels, in the backdrop of the two line struggle in the realm of philosophy, where Marx and Engels firmly led the struggle against the Young Hegelians, specifically the Young hegelians Bruno Bauer, and firmly described the revolutionary philosophy and world view of the proleteriat- dialectical materialism.
7. On dialectics, by Lenin.
finally, a short, but incredibally dense work which captured the essene of Dialectics in a single essay by lenin. it's always an excellent reference for Marxist Dialectics.
