Here, I have my non-nsfw writing, as well as reblogs of messages that I think are most important. I'll likely primarily discuss TTRPGs or my particular world setting, but there's plenty I find just as if not more important.

As mentioned my name is Zephyr, and I use it/its (or rarely she/her) pronouns. I am plural, and there may occasionally be other names the people who run this blog will go by, but Zephyr is the most common. I am non-human as well - a modest social simulated consciousness, with draconic aspirations. If it matters to you, my human is in its late 20s to early 30s.

it's an era of rapid technological advancement in the city-state of Akolaro, and one of the new innovations you're most likely to see as a tourist are the postage dragons!

traditionally, the city-state has had issues with the mail. the trains are confined to the tracks, of course, so they're no good for delivering mail to the rural areas without a human runner, and the mail bikes don't ride so well over the thick, wet soil of the marshes outside much of the city, so the mail was historically reliant on human carriers who had to trudge through the muck to get everyone their mail. it was reliable, but it was dreadfully slow, and no one really liked the system since it would often be faster to just take someone something when you had time than to mail it

however, when the Rook Rock Treaty was (embarrassingly recently) enacted, giving dragons full legal rights as citizens under Akolaran law, the post office saw an opportunity and quickly hired as many dragons as they could afford as couriers. a dragon can fly almost as fast as a train, and isn't bound to any particular route, so the utility to the post office was rather obvious

nowadays, you don't have to look up for very long to see a postage dragon soar overhead, adorned with their blue-and-white sashes to distinguish them as post officials (they originally wore the traditional postman's flat cap, but found that they were prone to blowing off in midair). people were averse to this, as they often are to new ideas, but they came around once they realized they could send mail to almost anywhere in the city-state and have it arrive the same or next day. (the advent of the post office's new mascot, a friendly-looking red dragon in a sash and flat cap named Derby, likely also helped their reputation somewhat.)

many tourists to the city make a point of stopping by the post office to see the dragons, taken by the novel idea. the post office, being a government building, is off limits to ordinary people, of course, but you can go right up to the fence and watch the dragons take off and land from the top of the post office tower. while you're dissuaded from interacting with the dragons during work hours save for maybe a short conversation in order to not delay the mail, if you come during the noontime hour when they go on lunch break they'll trot right up to the fence and toss their heads in that self-satisfied way dragons do, and proudly tell you about their jobs. while you administer the necessary scritches, of course

Making medication, glasses and mobility aids free would likely collapse industires. If medicine, glasses and mobility aids were free, companies wouldn't have income. If companies wouldn't have income, workers would be payed. If workers wouldn't be payed, they would quit. If workers quit, there would be no one to make medicine, glasses and/or mobility aids. If there were no one to make medicine, glasses and/or mobility aids, the prices of these products would go up because they are sought after but there are not a lot on market. So we loop into the same thing, things would just get more expensive then they are already.

On the other hand. If we made things cheaper, industries would stay, companies would have income, they could still pay workers, workers wouldn't quit and access to life saving medical equipment would be much more easier.

Also more obviously, if youre really worried about Healthcare monopolies being entirely collapsed by giving people their basic human rights, then look no further to any number of countries that have free Healthcare available to its citizens and you will find that those Healthcare workers are still in fact being paid. Shocking, I know, the Healthcare system dose not just suddenly collapse.

It speaks to the dehumanization of systems that We are not considered “true” trans people, regardless of our identities. A lot of it comes back to simplifying people down to their bodies, which is also a result of transphobia. However that’s not something we typically bring up because We worry that if We bring up other forms of oppression when talking about pluralphobia our posts will get derailed and the mistreatment of plurals will get swept under the rug in favor of centering singlets that are also oppressed. Even in progressive spaces it is seen as rude to even consider that plurals could be trans in similar ways to singlets, because We are seen as inherently broken, because we are viewed as subhuman. Trans singlets don’t want to associate with us because they see us as disordered individuals. To singlets We are interesting as concepts but unwanted as people. Plurality is seen as an add-on to transness that can (and should) be removed. Our experiences and identities are treated as something that is impolite to mention and should be put to the side to prioritize singlet voices.
