Takeuchi Yuko and Kanjiya Shihori for Miss Sherlock photoshoot

The poster visuals were created by art director Yoshida Yuni, who has become popular from her philosophy of combining “poison and KAWAII”. After reading the script and visiting the set of 221B, Yoshida decided to make the visuals’ key points femininity and things associated with Sherlock Holmes.

Thus, Sherlock’s trademark pipe became a flower.

The reasons for choosing a red rose were the mental images associated with the colour red; and the fact that rose is a flower that symbolizes not just charm, but also beauty. Yoshida says she kept in mind what the visuals can say without words not just within Japan but worldwide.

Because the characters played by Takeuchi-san and Kanjiya-san are fantastic, highlighting them became naturally simple.

Just as Yoshida says, the two contradicting characters’ beauty stands out. And so, the corpses that became brilliant roses hint at the drama’s brilliant mix of beauty and trepidation.

watching miss sherlock is like a dream come true. I got to know about sherlock holmes when I was twelve and since then I frequently imagined what if sherlock was a woman. then I watched ‘elementary’ when I was in high school and got excited about the first female watson played by lucy liu and still waiting for female sherlock. you have no fucking idea what I felt when I first found out about they were making miss sherlock. I think the excitement is finally caught up with me after watching episode seven now I can’t stop thinking about sara shelly futaba and watolock
