Do you get a weird feeling of emptiness or awkwardness when you watch this scene? That’s because it’s intentional, both the position of the actors regarding the sofa and Benedict Cumberbatch’s acting slightly uncomfortable; Sherlock wanted to sit next to John, he even probably hoped in an invitation by an once again clueless John, but couldn’t dare take the initiative to sit by his side, like younger Sherlock most likely would. This is a regression in their relationship clearly, but it works simultaneously as a confirmation of Sherlock’s feelings, since we can easily see that Sherlock needs to be closer to John, a need that isn’t burning or source of discomfort between platonic friends.

The story of what happened to Victor had so many disturbing elements. From the point of view of say a young person who might especially identify with Victor, the fact that there was no serious attempt to look for him might be even more disturbing than the fact that he was murdered.

And I recall before s4, many fans were saying that Mary’s baby would have to live because a stillborn baby or a dead baby from any cause would be too dark for this show. That they would never go there.

Well they went there in the most bizarre way to suit their Eurus plot purposes.

These wonderful comments indicate why I feel Euros is not real. TFP seems to be an outsider’s understanding as to the dynamic of the Holmes family. It’s actually quite embarrassing for us when people from our ship community hate. It’s like that one relative who’s really racist or homophobic and just keeps saying horrible things and the rest of the family doesn’t agree with them, but doesn’t know what to say to them about it either.

And we are NOT all people with “gay fetishes.” Most of us are, in fact, just people who want to see sexual orientations other than straight up on the screen. Or, we’re just people with great gaydars.
