@sherlockpls
watching sherlock the way god intended
is it true that you love me? i dare you to kiss me.
four times Sherlock was alarmed by sex and the one time he wasn’t
#dear god what kind of strenuous mental gymnastics must it take#to watch these scenes and come out of them thinking Sherlock isn’t as gay (for John) as the day is long
ANYTIME
“The Power of the Dog” receives 12 Academy Award nominations, the most of any film. Congratulations to the cast and crew, especially to Jane Campion. A big thank you to the late Thomas Savage, the author of the novel and creator of one of the best stories of his time and now.
“He knew no more of love, he told himself, than he did of tears, but he enjoyed sitting there. And he enjoyed the conversation which seemed to him on the verge of taking an even more sprightly turn. In other words, he knew all there was to know about love, that it’s the delight of being in the presence of the loved one.” — Thomas Savage, The Power of the Dog
me receiving the bbc sherlock s5 announcement in 2022
the duality of man
the perception of the sherlock fandom sucks bc we’re existing in a time where fan theories are more in vogue than ever but somehow its still so taboo and frowned on to talk in depth about sherlock outside of a very specific circle of people :/
the level of vitriolic hate sherlock and its fandom receives is entirely due to bandwagoning and cringe. the contrapoints video on cringe really explains it perfectly. people hate sherlock so intensely because they used to be like us, and when public perception of the show shifted they got embarrassed and jumped ship. now they hate on it to receive validation from others and feel better about themselves. There’s nothing people hate more than something they used to be!
the most fascinating thing about it is that the idea people now have in their minds of bbc sherlock is so divorced from reality. and sometimes when people rewatch they’ll be kind of surprised that it isn’t as bad as they remember. like… yeah. we know.
listen a bbc sherlock rewatch hits different nowadays. the gayness has fermented and it’s stronger than ever
seeing ppl blog about sherlock in 2022 makes my heart bloom
all that I know is I’m
falling falling falling
might as well fall in
no offense but john saying look how brilliant you are during sex
like i always had a lingering feeling that the My was italicized but seeing it written out is a Whole New Experience
and later they’ll go to angelo’s and play out their entire conversation again bc they’re losers but when john teasingly asks “do you have a boyfriend?” this time sherlock gets to blush and say “yes” i hate them
