Sorry for being such a bad owner and lying to you constantly. I'm so sorry for not caring for you as I should have done the whole time. Now that you're gone I feel as though all of this is my fault. Finding you dead was the worst thing that I could have possibly ever come across. I know for a fact that all of this could have been prevented if I had just paid more attention to you. I'm sorry for not considering how weak and fragile your body has gotten over the years, I kept forgetting how old you are due to the fact that you always look like you're still a baby. I knew you were going to leave me eventually, I just didn't imagine that last night was going to be the day. You still had so much to live for and I'm sorry that none of us cared. You will always be cute and loveable, I'm sorry for constantly calling you needy and annoying. You definitely weren't, I was just not a big fan of affection and there was no way for you to know that, you were a dog of course. You were blind and deaf and everyone just forgot. I know I was one of three people who cared for you, but even though I was one of the most tentative, I still forgot occasionally and last night just happened to be one of the nights I regret. I wish I had been checking on you periodically to make sure that you were okay. I was too selfish and blind to realize how hot it was and that you were all out of water. I feel so guilty knowing that I could have prevented all of this if I just had paid more attention to you. I can't stop crying over you because you had done nothing wrong, you did nothing to deserve this. You were/are so amazing and I admire you for your perseverance. Thank you for being such a great dog and I hope you can forgive me wherever you may be. I miss you so much and I'm really sorry that I never showed you how much I loved you when you were still here. I miss you and I can't say that enough. I'm also sorry, I also can't say that enough. I'm not sure what you ever did to deserve this, you were so good to us. I'm sorry for neglecting you but I hope you're in a better place now. I'm so sorry, I love you always and please forgive me. I should have known better and I promise to be a better owner to Daisy. Daisy misses you too, all of us do. Mom and dad keep telling me to stop crying but I can't, I miss you too much and this all could have been prevented. Please forgive me.
