I can't stop thinking about the aftermath of Where the Wild Things Were, like I'm imagining Remus and Sirius cooped up together in that house in OOTP and Remus being like "so are we going to address you cheating on me with James or-" 😂😂 Or Harry somehow finding out how his dad couldn't keep his hands off his godfather. Somehow it's so morbidly funny to me. I love infidelity fics where Sirius and James just can't keep away from each other and then Sirius has to live with all of that after James dies, delicious.

AHAHAHA like fifteen years later pls 😭 and Sirius would absolutely rebut that with “I don’t know are we going to address you hooking up with my baby cousin?”

Harry would think it’s *so* funny that James and Sirius hooked up. And the way PoA is just an ode to how hot Sirius Black is? like father like son 😭😭😭

i just remembered that canonically, sirius got to godrics hollow after hagrid.

which means that after he had his godson taken away from him (bc lbr that’s exactly what hagrid and dumbledore’s orders basically did) then he went into the house and saw james and lily’s dead bodies alone. no buffer in the form of harry crying out for his parents or even the godfatherly instinct of making sure his kid is alright.

he was there, with his brother and friend’s cooking body, all alone. stewing in grief and pain and rage and guilt. ALONE.

do we even know how long he was there? for all we know, he could’ve been catatonic right there besides james all day.

Sirius stared at James. James stared at Sirius. After a couple weeks, they stopped averting their eyes when the other caught them looking.

Remus was sure they’d get their heads out of their arses and realise what was going on in three months, tops. He was wrong, of course, but Peter got History help out of it, so he didn’t mind. …At first. Six months in, Peter decided that these berks he called mates needed help, so he started nudging them in the right direction. Nothing too outstanding, just a few comments here and there.

But then it had been a year since James and Sirius had started pining and Peter was fucking done with subtlety. The problem with that, of course, was that James and Sirius acted like a bloody couple anyways! There wasn’t any ‘oh let’s trick them into going on a date’ because they went on dates all the time. When Remus asked who they were taking to the Equinox Dance, they said each other, probably, and showed up together but Peter was fairly certain they hadn’t actually talked about it.

If Peter hadn’t known better, he would’ve thought they were dating, but there was never any kissing, and the distinct air of unresolved sexual tension that followed them every where they went acted as a constant reminder that no, the two people who were made for each other weren’t actually together.
