YOLO (You Only Love Once)
Love... Something we all yearn for and search for, in one way or another. A word with no definition.
Recently, Iāve heard a song with a similar title and it made me wonder... Do we really get the feeling of a true romantic love only once in our lifetime? That time when we are young and still mesmerized by this feeling of someone accepting us in our entirety... When all the colors seem brighter in their presence... When they can do no wrong in our eyes... When their whole world becomes ours... When we are a bit naĆÆve and do everything with open and pure heart... When life hasnāt brutally opened our eyes yet...
Perhaps, it is true - we really do only love once. The concept of learning from our own mistakes agrees with this. Hurt, pain and everything else that comes with the first letdown in the person we once awed upon agree with this. It changes us. We are now more aware of all the potentially bad traits this new person in our life has. It even makes us a little bit paranoid because - who would want to repeat the same old mistakes? We (un)purposely make a decision that we will never be as open as the first time and we are definitely no longer as naĆÆve. In fact, we are even proud of it.
But should we really be? Does it have to be this way?
Now, letās take our time and letās remind ourselves of the memory of our first love, of all the times we felt like we were the luckiest person in the whole wide world just because they have chosen us... How nice would it be to feel like that again, to be completely hypnotized by someone and for them to be completely hypnotized by us... And what if, in fact, that is possible? Even if it is for just a moment...
If we just open our hearts, let the guard down and immerse ourselves with no fear of drowning into the ocean of the real, true, first-like, love.

Tonight I can write the saddest lines. Write, for example,'The night is shattered and the blue stars shiver in the distance.' The night wind revolves in the sky and sings. Tonight I can write the saddest lines. I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too. Through nights like this one I held her in my arms I kissed her again and again under the endless sky. She loved me sometimes, and I loved her too. How could one not have loved her great still eyes. Tonight I can write the saddest lines. To think that I do not have her. To feel that I have lost her. To hear the immense night, still more immense without her. And the verse falls to the soul like dew to the pasture. What does it matter that my love could not keep her. The night is shattered and she is not with me. This is all. In the distance someone is singing. In the distance. My soul is not satisfied that it has lost her. My sight searches for her as though to go to her. My heart looks for her, and she is not with me. The same night whitening the same trees. We, of that time, are no longer the same. I no longer love her, that's certain, but how I loved her. My voice tried to find the wind to touch her hearing. Another's. She will be another's. Like my kisses before. Her voide. Her bright body. Her inifinite eyes. I no longer love her, that's certain, but maybe I love her. Love is so short, forgetting is so long. Because through nights like this one I held her in my arms my sould is not satisfied that it has lost her. Though this be the last pain that she makes me suffer and these the last verses that I write for her.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Walk a mile in my shoes.
Is the world a cruel place? Are we all born kind and good and gentle just to be ruined by living in it? Evil does have a point. At least one for sure. Its purpose is the same as the purpose of anything opposite - it is there just so we could appreciate the good. But the real thing that is holding us at least a step back from the perfect world is not the existence of evil, it is the lack of empathy in the world we have. I feel like it is so hard for many people to stop for a moment and think what itās like in another personās skin before judging them. We forget to put ourselves in their shoes. How would I feel in that situation? What would I do? What couldāve lead me to do that? Am I acting like this because Iām mean or maybe just scared, lost, desperate? Am I crying for help? Everyone deserves a chance. Be that one person who at least tried to understand.
The man who fears losing has already lost.

Come, Jim, give me your paw for luck, I swear Iāve never seen one like it. Letās go, the two of us, and bark Up the moon when natureās silent. Come, Jim, give me your paw for luck. Stop licking me, pet, and please do At least heed this advice Iām giving. Of life you havenāt got a clue, You do not realize life is worth living. Your masterās kind a man of note, And visitors his home are thronging, They all admire your velvet coat Which smilingly they love to fondle. Youāre devilish handsome for a dog, So charming, trusting, unsuspicious, Not asking if you may or not, Like a drunken pal, you plaster kisses. Dear Jim, I know a great variety Ā Ā Ā Ā Of visions of all sorts call, But have you seen her here, the saddest And the least talkative of all? Iām sure sheāll come here. In my absence Please catch her eye. Go kiss her hand for me, For all my real or fancied errors asking Forgiveness of her in humility.
- Sergei Yesenin (1923)
Hit the road, Jack
Have you ever wanted to just leave everything and run away? What is it that makes you stay? Responsibilities? Family? Friends? Doesnāt the point of leaving lie exactly there - in going away, not looking back and starting over? Is it really a good idea? I would say:āPass!āā Life can be hard. Challenges are part of our everyday living. Escaping from the problems you are having at the moment wonāt prevent new ones from coming your way. I know because I did run away from home once, left a little note and everything that goes with it, packed my stuff and called a taxi. In all of my selfishness I didnāt stop and wonder how my mum would feel when she gets home and reads the handwriting. Of course, she was worried sick and called the police. In the end, everything was settled and the storm has calmed. She has forgiven me my escapade and we discussed the problems that existed but were never talked about until that moment. Take my advice when I say that if you have even a little bit of empathy and care for the people around you, you wonāt do it. Although it may seem to you like a good idea, it is just a temporary solution. You are only getting yourself and/or the people you love in a bigger misery. Every problem has a solution. Sometimes you have to be patient, sometimes stubborn, sometimes active... Whatever is needed from you, it is only because you are capable for doing it.
