My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk.

My mom said she felt and saw a little lump in the shower. She was lucky enough she found it at stage 2

My mom had a mammogram. The radiologist thought the spots were just regular calcium deposits. 

Turns out it was triple negative breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nods. Mastectomy, radiation and chemo saved her life.

This could SAVE a life.

Three weeks ago, my *28 year old* friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. 28! Just a reminder, breast cancer isn't just a disease our moms get. Check yourself often! And my friend is doing well--done with her first surgery and ready to face what comes next with a very strong support system!

finally!

Finally, Tumblr access at work! The last two weeks have sucked. I thought it was the web filter, but all of the sudden, it's working today!

Even with the vast lack of inspiration and motivation, i've managed to lose 5 pounds in the last couple weeks. I'm so very close to 50 pounds lost...49.6! So close. CW: 172.8. :)

thank God for...

Yesterday morning i ran 10.1 miles...you know, just to make sure i can. And as it was like 1000 degrees yesterday, i was grateful for some little things.

Thank God for strong breezes; for shady stretches of sidewalk; for infrequent but relief-inducing clouds; for sweat proof 70 spf sun block; and for neighbors with sprinklers. Yes, i will go out of my way just to run by your house if your sprinkler is on.

If i had one, i bet i'd be adding "for foam rollers" to that list, because srsly, my left hip and the left side of my back are killing me this morning. I think it's time to invest in one.

I feel a lot better about that 13.1 miles looming over my head. The St. Jude half marathon isn't until december, but i need to know i can do it...after yesterday, i'm sure i can.

Coming back from vacation is enough to make me not want to take vacation...at least not such a long one. I'm wearing my "Tuesdays are a bitch" t-shirt--seemed appropriate!

vacation...all i ever wanted

Are we on the beach yet? Not quite yet but soon, soon.

I thought of a few of things at the gym today.

a.) someone needs to event an elliptical that is kindle capable. how boss would it be able to plug your kindle up and view it on the tv screen? but that's not the best part...what would make it unbelievable would be to put previous/next page buttons on the elliptical handles. i would personally pay a sick amount of money for one.

b.) when i put my hands on my hips while going backwards, my hands are so much closer than they used to be. i was like "what the heck, this feels weird...ohhh, because there's like 5+ inches gone from there." it's funny the little ways you notice the changes to your body.

c.) if you have never downloaded a running mix from www.rockmyrun.com, you must go there now and download "pump your fist in the air." i have many of their mixes, and this one is amazing. you get one free download a month so use it wisely!

Down 3.2 lbs as of today. I knew it was going to be a good day ;) -40.8 total! Feels really good to be over the 40lb mark!

heck yes, shorts!

Can I just say, I realized this morning that this will be the first summer in...pretty much my whole life that I will be able to comfortably wear SHORTS! Heck yes! It's going to be 90 degrees today and I'm wearing little white jean shorts and I can walk in them without having to *subtly* remove them from my hoo-hah every 10 steps. And it's only going to get better.

Weigh in day...can't wait! Feeling great!
