She laughed when Lauren called her eye candy. A slight blush on her cheeks at the compliment. Even having heard her best friend comment on her butt plenty of times before, it still had the same effect on her. “Sorry Lo, but I think you’re the one lacking taste here. But it’s okay. I still love you girl.” Mani loved having nights like these, just being silly and having fun. It was a much needed break from most other times. “What’s that supposed to mean?” she questioned, looking to Lauren with a raised brow and a laugh. “I can handle my liquor thank you very much. Let alone some wine.” She took a long sip of her glass and watched how quick the other was with hers. “Now we’re just missing one thing…” Normani hummed as she went to turn on some music to fill the room but not too loud that it would disturb people in nearby rooms. “Ayeee, much better.” She reached for Lauren’s hand and tugged her into the space in the middle of the room. “Dance with me,” she insisted while still holding her half-empty glass in her other hand.
Her colored eyes rolled playfully at the other’s remark, “ Coming from the same girl who thinks grape juice is terrible. '’ Another laugh escaped from her red lips. ‘’ But I luh you too so .. it’s whateva. ‘’ There was nothing she treasured more than to mess with people. Especially if they were one of her bandmates. Their reactions were her absolute favorites. ‘’ Let’s not mention that one time you went tipsy over a fucking martini. -- Funniest shit ever. ‘’ As they downed the alcohol, her eyebrows raised in amusement over how long Mani’s lips remained glued to the glass. Then, she observed her best friend making her way to the stereo: Music beginning to flow through her ears. ‘’ Yeeeees girl. ‘’ Her body swayed side to side to the tempo of the song before being interrupted by the other tugging her to the middle of the room. Her smile grew so wide that a grin formed, feeling overly ecstatic that she had the chance to dance with Normani. It was one of her favorite things that they’d do together. She lifted the girl’s hand in the air to twirl her around so that her back-side pressed against her --before making them both swing to the rhythm.

She smiled, it was almost impossible for her not to when the pair hung out together. Mani always had fun and enjoyed it when just the two of them got the chance to do so. Whether it was a night out or something more laidback like it was now – drinks in their hotel room. She glanced back over her shoulder at Lauren after she smacked her butt. A fake surprised look on her features, “Oh yeah, you just like the view,” she giggled with a playful roll of her eyes. She was used to it and it never bothered her anyway. “Mhmm, not that bad,” she repeated the words in a mocking tone. Normani shimmied her shoulders in a little dance as they got into the wine. “I know we probably shouldn’t get drunk before a show day but just a couple glasses won’t hurt.” She picked up her glass and clinked it against Lauren’s. “To us, and all the tour stories and memories we’ll tell our grandkids someday.” She laughed before taking the first long sip from her glass.
These were her favorite nights. In a hotel room with one of her bandmates, or, all --- to chill with. It was the most calming of nights, being able escape all the intensity that was from being who they were just by settling down with her close ones. And with drinks? That made it even more enjoyable for her. The Cuban slouched even more in her chair when Mani glanced over her shoulder, teasing the other with a teeth over tongue smile in return. ‘’ Who wouldn’t drool over a view like this? It’s literal eye candy. ‘’ Lauren blatantly stated with a faint chuckle after stating the truth. She scoffed shortly after, folding her arms tightly at her best friend’s mockery. ‘’ You just don’t have good taste. ‘’ Seeing Normani shimmy her way here made her giggle a bit once more, always admiring the little things she’d do. ‘’ I -- kinda don’t give a fuck. I got hella use to hangovers by now. I can withstand a lil’ wine. I dunno ‘bout you though.. ‘’ She grinned quite mischievously to her bandmate. Clinking the glass together, she cheered, ‘’ To us! ‘’ then sipped the glass awfully quick.
