From 2006 to 2023.

The top photo is from the 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. We competed at Junior Nationals that year as Intermediates and went to watch “Big Nationals”.

Alex and I did some guest reporting from the media room and covered all of the Championship events. We tried to find the blog we wrote, but it seems to be lost to the internet. 😅

After one of the press conferences, we took a photo at the podium. I remember we laughed and thought it would be really cool to sit behind the mic one day and answer questions as athletes.

17 years later, we recreated the photo following our Hall of Fame press conference.

We have long admired the elite group of athletes and contributors to figure skating who are in the prestigious Hall of Fame. To join their ranks is surreal and humbling.

THANK YOU to all of the people around the world who believe in us. It takes a village and your love and support is deeply felt and appreciated. ❤️

Spending the weekend with our fellow inductee, Paul E. George, was incredible. Sharing this experience with our amazing parents, Paul, and his family is something we will always remember.

We went to an LA Clippers game last week for Japanese Heritage Night. Thanks to the Clippers for celebrating the Japanese + Nikkei community, and giving us the opportunity to talk to the arena + fans about our first picture book, Amazing: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Who Inspire Us All.

So much care and effort has gone into the creation of this book and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with everyone. You can follow “@amazingaapi” on Instagram to learn more - we’ll be making some announcements in the lead-up to the April 18th release, but in the meantime, make sure to preorder a copy of the book!

It was a great night - we threw t-shirts, caught up with some friends after being in Japan for two months, and the Clippers got the win!

We're thrilled to share that we’re being inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame!

This is a huge and unexpected honor. We got the call last week and we’ve definitely been experiencing lots of emotions - memories from our early days have come to the surface. We’ll continue to share as we have time to process, but more than anything, this news and recognition makes us think of all of the people we’re grateful for.

It starts with our parents and extends to our coaches, collaborators, friends, mentors, training mates, fans, sponsors, and beyond. A vast collection of people helped shape us into the team and people we are today, and we’re thankful for everyone who has supported us along the way.

Congratulations to our fellow Class of 2023 inductee, Paul E. George. Our on-ice ceremony will be in San Jose on January 28th. We’re looking forward to returning to the U.S. Championships!
