Shieldedpatriot ; independent, selective rp blog for Steve Grant Rogers of the mcu. The following portrayal will be mostly movies based with some heavy headcanon influence. 21+ because themes such as mature content will be present on this blog.

Rules

I. This account is highly selective so I only wish to interact with mutuals, and I would hope mutuals will allow me to write what I want without pushing stuff on me. This account is supposed to be a way for me to let go & just have fun.

II. I don't ever have exclusives just because I know I personally have moments where I just drop everything, and exclusitivity is a bit stressful. But one thing I do love are mains. If I feel extremely attached to you & know you aren't extremely close with a duplicate muse as mine I will ask, but I also will respect when people already have a Steve they are close with! Mains is something I only do when I ask in dm rather than a text post, it feels more personal that way.

III. Godmodding : This is self-explanatory. I don't like having my muse controlled. If any of you notice something about my muse, like the behavior and actions of my character, it was me, I did it on purpose since it will depend on me.

IV. I love OCs and welcome any interaction with my captain. Crossovers are also something I enjoy so don’t be afraid to approach him.

Misc : Yes, I work a full time job. So I won't be posting my updates daily, because of my complicated schedule. In plotting/roleplaying, I reply fast--if I'm not busy.

Peggy was no blushing ingénue, she'd seen men in states of undress before, hell, she'd seen Steve in a state of undress before! But having him here in her home, was different and new, especially since she'd thought him dead.

Her face felt like it was on fire, and she was sure she was as red as her lipstick.

"Sorry!" She blurted forcing herself to make eye contact with Steve instead of letting her eyes linger where they will.

"... Excuse me."

The man out of time stood frozen for a moment, his hands still hovering near the fabric as he registered Peggy's flustered state. A faint flush crept up his own neck, though his expression remained earnest and concerned.

❛ Peg… don’t apologize. I should have been more considerate. ❜ He slowly lowered his hands, giving her space. ❛ I can step out if you'd like a moment. ❜

Steve’s eyes held hers with genuine warmth, no trace of amusement at her embarrassment. The reality of being here with her alive, after all this time, was still sinking in for him too. And he understood the overwhelming emotions that must be surfacing for her.

Far be it from Steve to question one of the redhead’s orders. Concern was swift to cross over his features while effortlessly sitting on the couch… after a few steps backward were made. ❛ Nat? ❜ The inquiry was met with the arch of a golden brow; expectant.

The captain was on his return home, climbing the steps of the apartment complex to reach the corridor where his apartment sat at the far end of it (tucked away.) His keys were in his hands, which he was twirling between fingers as he stepped. Just as he passed by his neighbours door, he heard it open and almost immediately, his nose was hit by the smell of freshly baked goods. Steve chose to stop and turn on the back of his heels so he could face his neighbour’s home, just before he reached his own door.

❛ Smells really good in there, what're you making? ❜  He gave her a smile, with cheeks that were slowly gaining a pink hue to them. ❛ I don’t mean to intrude . . . ❜ the golden boy laughed, raising his hands in a defensive manner. Keys hanging from one of his fingers. ❛ I live at the end of the hall. Don’t think we’ve ever properly met. ❜

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011)

"Hi, Daddy." Eve smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist. "Not interrupting anything, am I?"

Blue eyes playfully roll at her nickname, fingers giving the other’s side a squeeze & failing to control the shade of red blooming across cheeks. ❛ Eve— ❜ The captain cleared his throat in a futile attempt to regain his composure. ❛ No, you're not... I was just finishing up. What are you... what are you doing here? ❜

boxing was the first formal fighting style steve ever studied.  it mostly came out of necessity rather than interest.  after he had broken his knuckles in a fight,  his mother had taught him the right way to hold his fist. she took him to a handful of warm up matches at a gym in the neighborhood, nothing serious,  but enough for steve to get some exposure. she had friends who fought in the ring and she made money on the side by patching up their wounds — this gave her access to the fighters who could teach her little son how to hold his arms up right and keep his head up. sarah didn’t take him there for him to learn how to be a great fighter,  but to show him there is a way he can protect himself when a bully has him backed into a corner.   

it got him by.  he wasn’t winning any fights but he could usually manage to get a couple of good jabs in and came home with less bruises and broken bones.  as he got older, his fighting style became more refined in those back alleys. he learned how to observe his opponent to use their weaknesses against them.  he learned how to slip and dodge — waiting until the bully was tired before he would strike. 

boxing is the most natural fighting form for steve. it is what he falls into in a bind. boxing in conjunction with kickboxing are the default fighting moves for steve and what he’s most likely to use against an opponent. other than being so ingrained in him,  it gives him the allowance to moderate his breathing, observe an opponent, and hit with swift, forceful jabs while remaining light on his feet. 

his fighting style tends to be very defensive in nature —  he uses a shield rather than an offensive weapon.  he uses his opponents’ strength against them. he holds a defensive stance with his fists out in front of him, protecting his face and chest. boxing allows him the reprieve to think about what he’s doing.

The captain felt a flush of heat climb up his neck that had nothing to do with his recent hot shower. He instinctively clutched the towel tighter around his waist, the damp fabric doing little to cover his embarrassment. Blue eyes widened for a moment before he quickly composed himself, a sheepish smile touching his lips.
