-Yeah she won't be good, definitely.-
Lav feels overwhelming jealousy towards the first muse he encounters, he wants to hurt or even kill them. ♡
Every single time he tries to do something, he hurts someone. That's something he's been struggling a lot with.
He's been walking across the beach, rain starting to drizzle slightly. He doesn't really care about it anymore. Makes it easier to hide the crying whenever he needs to.
He sighed, hands in pockets, just strolling across the coastal line. He's not usually this bad. But the overwhelming feeling of being so... Small, and worthless is a bit more than normal.
Then again, when is anything normal with him?
He hung his head down, trailing his feet across the sand. Maybe just looking for some company would be good for him. It was a nice day, the drizzle doesn't exactly seem threatening either.
...hopefully nothing bad happens.

-She was walking back to the library, a wind rune in hand to repel the water off her. Didn't like getting her clothes wet and.. she just found a home! Wanted to give the good news to Lav. She was... planning on staying there for a couple more days and then she'll move.-
-Talking about Lav... Isn't that him? She turned her head, spotting his hair on the beach. She walked towards him, already taking out another wind rune for him, doesn't want him to get sick.-
Lav?
He looked at her, almost looking angry, sighing with frustration when he saw her. He looked miserable, and he looked so... Annoyed to even be near her.
Hey, Liz.
_She blinked. Noticed the expression... it's kinda familiar for her. She handed him a paper with a rune._
Here, hold it. Makes you repel water.. for the rain.
_She still smiled at him._
Tch. No, I'm fine. You know what's fucking irritating? God, you think you're just- just so much better than everyone else. Just because you try to help people. But yknow what? It's all just LUCK. I've done nothing except try, and you know what I got? I got a big FUCK YOU. You're only lucky. That's all in you've got.
-She blinked, confused.-
And.. why are you telling me this...? Did something happen?
Yeah, something did happen.
He summoned a shard, attempted to stab her in the stomach.
I fucking realised that you don't care, do you? You just want to be "the good guy". That's all you care about, trying to make yourself seem good. I know what you've done though. I know EVERYTHING. Good person MY ASS.
-She dodged with ease, moving to the side.-
What do you mean? You.. don't. You don't know a thing about me, Lav. Please calm down...
-She's not doubting herself over this. He would've been more specific if he did know. And.. even if he did, he would know better than to face her like this.-
-The black mass moved to her hand, expading itself and turning into a big clawed hand.-
I might not know everything, but I know that you killed your dad. And I think that's all I need to know.
He summoned shards from behind her, trying to stab her from behind.
Why keep trying to play the Saint when you aren't exactly got clean hands either?
-So that's the only thing he knows..? She was.. a bit relieved. Less things to explain later. She moved to the other side, trusting her reflexes._
And why are you attacking me exactly..? You don't even know what happened, Lav.
-She already had character development over this Lav, won't be that easy to make her mad.-
Okay, yeah. I don't know everything. But I sure as hell know you aren't a good person. You've hurt people, and you're only going to keep doing that.
Wow. Projecting a bit too much.
Why even try to change if your roots are still the same? Once a murderer, always a murderer.
...That's how you feel about yourself?
-You're being a bit too obvious, Lav.-
Yeah he can tell. He kept trying to swipe at her, knowing he was failing, getting close enough to bubble her.
No, I know about myself. You're the one who keeps trying to escape it. And look at you now. You've left your family behind! What kind of a sibling are you? They're probably worried sick, and for what? Just because you fell in?
Not my fault I fell in a portal that appeared beneath my feet.
-She knew his powers a bit, so she was very cautious not to approach him, deflecting a couple of the shards with the dark mass.-
He kept her in a bubble, keeping a large amount of shards behind him, as well as keeping the one in his hand.
What's the plan then, huh? Just to stay here and let them suffer? Never give them closure on what happened to you?
Lav, you're not making any sense. If it was up to me I wouldn't be here!
-She tried to rip through the bubble, using the clawed hand.-
He almost stumbled back, clutching his chest, trying to reinforce it, but it just popped.
So you'd rather leave everyone else here? Leave me behind?
-She stood firmly.-
If there was no other way..
Yes, I would.
I have people I have to protect, can't stay behind. Have to keep my promises.
-She smiled, looking at the ground for a moment.-
Doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt though...
-She put her free hand in her pocket. Guessing from the state he's in, he'll probably lash out with that answer. She's preparing.-
You'd-
He chuckled, starting to tear up.
You'd leave me behind? Oh of fucking course, OF COURSE YOU FUCKING WOULD!
He summoned his whip, wrapping around her waist, pulling her close.
WHY THE HELL WOULDN'T YOU?! WHO'D WANT TO STAY WITH ME ANYWAY?!
-The claw turned into a blade, cutting off the whip before he could pull her.-
It's not about you.
I have a family back there and I miss them.
He sent several shards to her, far quicker than usual, yelling more. Greatly unstable at the moment, and it seems it's going to stay that way.
IT'S NEVER ABOUT ME, IS IT? ITS ALWAYS ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE! IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT BUBBLE, ALWAYS ABOUT VARIAN, ALWAYS ABOUT YOUR FAMILY, WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE ABOUT ME!?
-The darkness shifted to become a shield now, deflecting the shards.-
Lav, you asked me a question, and I answered.
It doesn't mean it would be an easy decision, I wouldn't want to leave you.
If anything.. I'd like to take you with me but... you wouldn't like that either, would you?
-A couple shards managed to rip some of her clothes, cutting her skin. She was bleeding, but didn't falter with her words.-
I care about you. I really do.
..I want you to be happy, we're friends, right?
He sent more, summoning a new whip, shapeshifting above her.
YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ME! NO ONE DOES!
-She just kept blocking, refusing to attack. One shard cut her cheek, making her flinch from how close that was to her eye. Noticed the whip, didn't do anything about it.-
I do care. Bet lots of people care too.
-Her voice was still calm, as if they were just having a normal conversation.-
He flew above, shapeshifting back to normal behind her. He tried to grab her again, at least to restrain her, sending more shards to her, glaring.
No, they fucking don't. Don't act like you fucking know me. Because you fucking don't.
_She let him grab her, hitting him on the stomach with her elbow and then kicking his knees, bringing him to the ground as she protected them both from the shards with the black mass._
Well, you don't either.
He yelled out, clutching his stomach on the floor, looking up at her.
Who the hell d'ya think you are?
He kept trying, but the black mass continued to block nearly every attack. The moment it goes, Alissa would probably get destroyed, and maybe even Lav too.
I'm just me.
-She's aware of that. So she just.. aimed to kick him on the chin, hard, hopefully knocking him out._
Nope. Didn't knock him out, you just. Made him bite his tongue and now he's bleeding. He groaned, not saying another word, trying to get up and summoning another shard in his hand, attempting to stab her again. Maybe if the black mass is focused on the other shards, it won't protect her from this.
-Well. She has one free arm. And she took out a glyph from her pocket. She didn't stock up a lot.. but this'll work.-
-It was the wind glyph she showed him when they first met. But the gust of wind was way stronger, knocking him off before he could stand.-
-She looked down at the sand. Ah, that could work-
He was starting to tire himself out a bit, falling back to the floor and rolling on the sand, but he only attempted to get back up again, taking a moment to stabilise himself. He wiped the blood from his mouth, glaring at her. The shards continued to rain on the mass, immediately desummoning once they hit. He shapeshifted, just attacking with his hands now. He was a bear, and he was trying to maul her, rip her apart. If he can't do anything with range, might as well try this. And if this doesn't work, well, he'd probably exhaust himself out. He's already exerted himself far more than he should've.
-Took another rune out, Lav couldn't recognize this one. A barrier of ice appeared in the middle of them, holding him back. She was trying to write something on the ground.-
WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DIE?! I can't be this weak, I can't-
He was cut off with the ice barrier, and he shapeshifted back to normal, keeping a shard in his hand. He took a run up, and jumped over the ice barrier, floating down. He hasn't done the gem jump in ages... Almost forgot he had that ability. Glad he had a curse to remind him. He held his shard over his head, attempting to land and stab her. Even one scratch would be good for him.
-Didn't expect him to jump that high, looking up and then hurrying to finish the rune.-
-She moved to the side. He did manage to stab her, but the moment he stepped forward, he suddenly felt... confused, feeling the urge to sleep right away, body giving up, the ground glowed for a moment, the rune disappearing. Sleep rune, kinda.-
He was breathing heavy, still trying to fight it, the rune keeping him down. The rain of shards had slowed significantly, almost not even present anymore, and he sent one last shard towards her, before knocking out. Both from the rune, and overdoing it.
-The black mass went back into her body when the shards stopped. She sighed, picking him up and walking towards the library.-
-She left him on the couch, going to the kitchen to apply some fountain water on her wound. She went back and sat beside him, closing her eyes.-
He... Didn't want to stop fighting, but he couldn't help it.
It had been a while. Quite a long time, actually... Probably around 8 hours, a proper sleep. He woke up, but everything hurt. He seethed in pain, sucking through his teeth. Regretting everything right now. What's going on though? He's... Still really upset and distraught. But how is he back home? He just remembered getting knocked out. What time is it...??
_She left a flask of fountain water in front of him before she fell asleep, just in case.-
-She stayed up for a couple hours before she knocked out, ended up resting on his shoulder, peaceful.-
He felt the weight on his shoulder, seeing her and smiling a little. He grabbed the flask, drinking some of it, before just leaning back on the couch, staying as a pillow for her.
...man. He felt awful. Everything he said was unwarranted... And it didn't even make sense, none of it did. God, did he have to say all that? It was so... Blatantly obvious on what he was trying to say.
He's just thankful he's weak. It's better this way. Now he can't hurt her. At least, not easily.
...who does he think he is? Saying any of that?
...whatever. you have plenty of time to loathe yourself.
He waited patiently for her to get up. Even if he needed sleep, something told him that he shouldn't. He'd probably get a nightmare anyways. So patience is the second best thing.
-She woke up a bit when she felt him lean back, yawning and hugging his arm.-
Hey Lav...
Oh, uh... Hey, Liz...
He smiled a little awkwardly.
Uh... S..sorry, about all that...
-Nuzzle, hnnn didn't want to wake up properly, half-aware of what she was saying.-
S'okay... been stabbed worse..
Yeah... Figured... But uh... I just sounded really selfish, I was being a bit of a git.
He had noticed how groggy she seemed, giving her a bit of a hug.
We can talk about this later, you seem tired...
Nah.. I'm- I'm fine.
-She blinked a bit, yawning again and properly waking up.-
Ok, I'm awake now.
And.. don't worry, I know you didn't mean most of it.
Pretty sure I didn't mean... All of it, if I'm honest, heh... That wasn't stuff you needed to hear. And, uh... I don't think the majority of that stuff, so please don't worry..,,
Didn't want her thinking he hated her or anything!! He just. Wanted to make sure that she knew that.
Lav, it's okay to be selfish sometimes.
-She knew it wasn't about her at all. This was about him.-
Besides..
You... really think like that about yourself?
Uhm... Somewhat...? It's uh... A bit complicated, heh...
It isn't complicated at all, he just doesn't want to admit it.
What brought you to that conclusion anyway?
-It wasn't that hard to figure out. She's the one who's been living with him and this curse.. kind of gave it all away.-
I don't.. know the whole story but... You've killed people here, I'm guessing a good bunch and that you were cursed during most of them.
You think of yourself as a murderer.
And.. you feel isolated from everyone. You... think people are leaving you behind. I don't know the reason. But your sister stopped living here.. so maybe that has something to do with it.
I don't know you that much, Lav... so tell me, am I right?
...yeah... Uh... I always forget how transparent I am with this kinda stuff, heh...
Idiot. You should be better at this by now. Why do you never learn your lesson?
But... I think it's just... Other factors added to it, too. And the stuff with me being a murderer is... There are so many things that you don't know that would probably clear that up. But I'm not going to tell you my life-story for all of that, heh... It just... Sometimes it's hard to accept that it's probably easier if I was left behind. And honestly, most of this is just me being far too oversensitive about it all. I wasn't even hurt by any of it, it doesn't make sense for me to try and act like I should have any of this.
...Left behind? What do you mean?
Like... I dunno, forgotten. Probably better if everyone is moving on or just... Getting on with their lives without me.
He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, looking away.
That sounds... Really bad out loud, now that I've said it. Uhm... I don't know how to phrase it, heh... Like it's... Better that they don't have to see me much? No, better that they don't have to deal with me.
...I don't think I can phrase it nicely, heh...
...do you think I'd be better off without you?
-It was a genuine question. Her tone was neutral.-
...yeah, sometimes. I hurt a lot of people on the regular, whether I'm cursed or not. And even if no one blames me, the guilt is crushing. It always has been.
He looked over at her, smiling a little softly. Less nervous this time, although his voice was wavering.
But despite that, I don't want to be left behind. Not if it means I have everyone leaving me. And it's... Really selfish of me to do that.
He looked at his ring, fiddling with it a bit.
And there are some people that I just... Care too much about. I could never even think of them trying to forget me.
It's... Really dumb, isn't it? I want to help everyone, but it feels like everytime I do, I just... End up ruining something else.
I think.. that being selfish would do you some good. Not wanting to be left behind is... a human thing.
-She took his hand.-
And well.. You helped me! And I don't thing anything bad came from that. You've been helping me a lot.
Being selfish is hard though... It feels like everytime I am selfish, I end up hurting someone again.
He rubbed his eyes to avoid any tears that had escaped him.
Man... Why is it so hard to be nice...? I thought I was pretty good at it, but... Apparently not...
He looked back up at Alissa.
I'm just... Glad I've managed to help you. You mean a lot to me. You're a really good friend.
-She smiled at him.-
You're a really good friend too..
And... yeah, being nice is hard but. You keep trying. And I think that shows how strong you actually are.
I'm not exactly sure if "strong" is the best way to describe me, heh... And I appreciate that.
Shush, you're strong, really strong.
You shush, I'm not really that strong. I've gotten fairly weaker than I was before. Had I been stronger, we'd... Probably not be having this discussion right now.
Didn't mean it fighting wise. They're both different types of strong. Still, don't undermine yourself! You're strong and you're not changing my mind.
I know you didn't, I just-
He sighed. No point in arguing. Just silence.
Did I say something wrong?..
No... No, you didn't, don't... Don't worry about it.
He smiled a little. He's just... Always had this weird thing about "being weak". Probably something Jasper put in to his head, considering how obsessed she was with strength. As well as Pearl... He's always just... Wanted to prove himself.
...and he doesn't really consider himself that mentally strong. It's... Really easy to break him. And he knows that.
-She.. won't pry more. So, let's change the subject.-
Ok... Hmm, how about we eat something?
Uh... Y-yeah! Sure, uh... Do you wanna order something or...?
Mmhm! I'm in the mood for some pizza.. Can you order tho? I'm.. still struggling to use a phone.
-She put a hand behind her head, a bit embarrassed.-

It's not about you.

-Took another rune out, Lav couldn't recognize this one. A barrier of ice appeared in the middle of them, holding him back. She was trying to write something on the ground.-

He was cut off with the ice barrier, and he shapeshifted back to normal, keeping a shard in his hand. He took a run up, and jumped over the ice barrier, floating down.
Her tone was neutral.-
Lav feels overwhelming jealousy towards the first muse he encounters, he wants to hurt or even kill them.

_She left a flask of fountain water in front of him before she fell asleep, just in case.-
-She stayed up for a couple hours before she knocked out, ended up resting on his shoulder, peaceful.-
Lav feels overwhelming jealousy towards the first muse he encounters, he wants to hurt or even kill them.
