Monte was the second whimsical pet portrait I did.

The outline is drawn with Stabilo 88 pens on 9″x12″ watercolor paper and then colored in with colored pencils.

I’ve been doing pet portraits lately. This is JD, who belongs to my cousin Lew.  Drawn with colored pencils on Strathmore toned tan sketch paper, size 9″x12″. Taking orders @ $60 per portrait.

A whimsical pet portrait. This is where it all started. I drew Dotty for her newly adopted family. She’d had a rocky start, being taken in by a few families before finding her forever home. Her new family soon discovered she is actually deaf and that’s probably why the other people had issues with her, thinking she was just stubborn or unteachable.
