I really want to know your oc Dusa’s backstory, she’s such a fantastic character and really want to know what happened to her
OH OKAY!
so this will go over some heavy topics, heavy topics that are under developed because i haven't fully written it down yet but still
(A LOT OF EARLY DUSA LORE IS MEANT TO BE SIMILAR TO MEDUSA FROM GREEK MYTHOLOGY SO BARE THAT IN MIND. Much like Medusa, the story goes over sexual assault.)
Dusa was seen as a young beautiful woman in her town. Her father was emotionally distant, never really speaking to her. Her mother was a very powerful woman and an oppressive force Dusa's her life and always belittled her into doing whatever her mother wanted. Always comparing her to her younger more accomplished siblings. She just wanted to live her life and do what she wanted but what she wanted wasn't good enough.
Her mother disrespected a powerful magick man and her mother used her power to always defend her family. After a few years, Dusa didn't listen to her mom and wandered off from the town. The magick man found her and assaulted her. Dusa became silent, she refused to talk, she was scarred, her hands always shaking. Her mom hated her more for this.
The magick man's wife came weeks later, blaming Dusa for using her wiles against her husband. She proceeded to torture Dusa for hours, comparing her to a fat cow the entire time. Dusa by the end was extremely mentally scarred and now cursed to turn any man into stone so she'll never 'steal' someone else's lover.
When Dusa's mom finally found out, Dusa was banished away. Dusa spent her time living in caves, hating herself. A great hero comes in years later, here to slay the evil woman who can turn men to stone. Dusa allows this to happen, keeping her eyes closed the entire time. Once the hero realizes he has power over her, he tries to attempt the same thing the magick man did. Dusa, with her first attempt in taking power for herself, froze the man's fist into stone, telling him that if he doesnt bash her head in, she'll turn him into a statue. She dies.

A baby named Mae is born.
Mae doesn't understand a lot of things about herself. She's constantly switching between different thought processes, has a strange fear of cows, hates her body, hates the concept of sex, and hates men. The only thing she really likes doing is woodworking. She chops down trees, makes charcoal, carves tools and artwork. It's a lonesome activity, someone has to do it, and it makes her happy.
Eventually, the hero comes to town. He's a smiley great man whose slain many of beasts. With one hand made of stone, he waves to the populous. She hates him. She doesn't know why but she hates him. She hates him so much. He keeps making an ass of himself, treating women poorly, and expecting everyone to foot his bill. After watching this dickhead parade himself there for a week, it all comes back. She remembers her past life. She remembers what happened to her. She remembers HIM.
There's this thing in the world called THE RAGE. It is a natural magick that enters someone the second they feel an unstoppable fury. It makes you almost impossible to kill. Think of a barbarian class in D&D. It's that. Mae takes the sidelines for an identity inspired by the frustrations of her past life, DUSA. Mae, now primarily having Dusa as the host, explodes into black static, realizing she has to kill this man.
Though Mae already had Dissociative Identity Disorder (the others are named Philo and Procne), Dusa came from the memories of trauma.
Dusa dropped all responsibilities, sleep, eating, shitting, everything, just to hunt the hero down. She eventually became a constant thorn in his side, every time he shook her off or did a killing blow, she'd come back twice as angry. She grew her shitlist, planning on hunting down that damned magick man and his awful wife too. One night while waiting for the hero to let his guard down, she met Rankenbass the Half-Ork Druid, who also had plans on beating the hero and the magick man (for his own reasons too.)
They became fast friends due to the common enemy and Dusa tortured the hero before killing him (Rankenbass looked away, he didn't want to see that.)
The magick man and his wife are next.
Eventually Dusa, Rankenbass, and Skunk, will kill everyone on Dusa's shitlist, break down entire monarchies, and kill any man in their way. Dusa will eventually be happy, no longer full of rage, no longer a mess of black static. But till then, she'll hurt everyone she has to.
OF COURSE THIS BACKSTORY IS NOT PERFECT. It's edgy as hell and I've been asking for lots of advice from friends with actual experience to stuff like this (not the reincarnation or murder though) and they've been wicked helpful.
