Few things made him wonder about his past, really. Nova did, when she called him her brother in a broken voice and frightened eyes, Charlie had when she spoke of the city of London with wet eyes drenched in fire & starlight and now this witch did with his rather brief & casual but unnecessary explanation. He knew what he had meant somehow, but now he wondered whether he came from a long line of powerful witches as well & his thoughts of divinity were mere arrogance on their part or if he, & perhaps if her words were true, Nova as well, truly did come from gods in some far off world. A shiver shook him lightly, cold seeping into his bones as a gust of early March wind swept through the streets, disturbing the natural course of things & the other’s statement that would have usually gotten a chuckle out of him was met with a brief smirk.
Though, as with anything, Map managed to quickly sweep the feelings & thoughts under a pile of trivialities & the cold wind quickly dropped as well. His smile widened & he offered the other a light shrug, his arms dropping back to his sides. ❛ Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I have no idea where I came from. ❜ He stated, quickly shuffling into his back pocket to pull out his wallet. Between paper bills rolled a small trinket, about the size & shape of a marble. White in colour with small grey black spots drawing in depths, the trinket gave off a small white glow & as Map picked it up, a thin, light chain began to fall from it’s end. ❛ Here. ❜ He offered to the other, accompanied by a friendly smile as he let the chain pool up in his palm before he outstretched it towards the other. ❛ It balances out the phases of the moon. It can negate some of the effects of the new moon so it won’t leave you completely useless. & how much for the vials? ❜
things never seemed particularly difficult to shin. naturally, he lacked family, lacked that sense of familiarity and the understanding of having someone to look up to constantly and without second thoughts--- but he lived without it. he was fine this way, could survive just fine. it seemed to hit a little too close to him for the other, however, the wind far from normal, his expression one that did not go unnoticed by one as empathetic as the witch. a low hum was given, a few small nods, a hand slipping under the table, conjuring forth a small crystal, white and orange, wrapped in string, warm to the touch, softly so, and gently moving to the palm of his hand. the offer of a trinket had him taken aback, however, and he was left to blink briefly, the energy it gave off more than pleasant, softly so, and he soon carefully took it into his hands, lips curved into a small smile, wonder sparkling in his eyes momentarily. ❝ that’s pretty cool, ❝ he whispered gently, soon glancing up at the other before he flashed a grin. his own hand was soon stretched out, offering the necklace it held in turn. ❝ take that, then. it’s soothing--- can’t sell that, it works too well and if anything, i’d end up making a fortune. takes AGES to make, too--- but it reacts to your mood. it’ll warm up your heart, so to speak. ❝ a few solid nods at that, before he tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. ❝ well--- honestly, i’d be fine with you buying me some lunch, that’s pretty much were my money would be going anyway--- and i’m pretty curious about you, to be honest. ❝
