it breaks my heart knowing that yato thinks that he is not good enough for people around him and the only way to make them happier is to defend his father and die, because he has such a low self-esteem and he claims that he isnt worth anything, he just doesnt know how much he has helped yukine to become a better person, he doesn’t know that he has saved hiyori in so many ways and situations, he doesn’t realise that everyone loves him and respects him and are grateful for the things he has done to them. He thinks that he only brings trouble and saddness for those people wo he loves and wants to protect, bu it’s not true. He is an amazing “human” being, who thinks about other people’s safety. It really hurts, I don’t want him to think that.

he finally confessed that he has someone who he loves, which is obviously hiyori, but i’m sure he doesn’t want to tell her this because he thinks that she deserves someone, who is better, who is beautiful inside, someone who hasn’t killed anyone, but he is wrong, HE is beautiful inside, HE is the one, who would do anything for the people he loves, he deserves to love hiyori more than anyone, he deserves to have a happy life together with her and yukine more than anyone.

This screams suicidal on so many levels. Yato thinking he needs to dispose of his current self because of doubts and anxieties is just flat out upsetting. As cute as this image is, the meaning behind it is devastating. Not only is it sad because it would be the loss of his own current self, memories, and relationships, it’s also heartbreaking because while he feels Yukine would be happier with a “gentler” version of himself, the fact is, that couldn’t be any farther from the truth. Yukine needs that father figure that he never seemed to have had and Yato has been providing that whether he realizes it or not. This man needs to realize his self worth and the positive impact he has on those around himmmmmmmm.
