Tutoring Session (Open)
4:00 o’ clock. A few hours after classes have just ended for the day and the extra curricular activities have started. For Hikari, this was her down time after all her student council work has been finished and filed for the day and had to now head to the library. She was greeted by the sign that stated her reason of coming, a sign that read “Tutoring Services here 4:00-6:00”.
Hikari entered the building at signed in at the front desk where she was given a paper name card that read “Tutor” and proceeded to take seat at an empty desk. She set her things and sat down, having her and her sign face the entrance so it could be easily noticed. Okay, I’m ready. Hikari took a deep breathe and started doing her homework for now, the only thing needed to be done was wait. Wait for someone who needed help that she was glad to give. Hopefully.
Just Doing the Job (Hikari/Kouji)
Kouji suddenly felt guilty, he had acted so rude towards the girl, so he cracked his most charming smile, hoping for her to understand that he was really sorry, as he shook her hand. He stared at the things the girl had handed him. It was like a welcome package and he wondered if it had been the same for Kouichi.
He couldn’t deny what it seemed to him, the girl acted as if this was an every day routine, and as if she always carried one of those school maps around with her. Maybe she was in charge of welcoming new students or something. “Um, thanks,” he said, truthfully, a little earlier, he had gotten lost trying to find his way to the main office.
Kouji was just about to walk towards the desk and get his schedule when he turned to the girl once again, “Hey, um, Yagami-san, do you think you could show me where my first class is? I’m not really good at reading maps and I wouldn’t want to get lost…” He almost blushed, really embarrassed, even though it was true.
Hikari nodded with a warm smile when Kouji accepted the map. "You're welcome, Kouji." She stepped aside to let Kouji walk toward the desk to pick up his schedule and Gatomon jumped into her arms at that moment. She petted Gatomon's head gently until she brought her attention back at the boy when she heard him speak up.
She smiled at him. "Of course, Kouji! I'll show you around the whole school and all your classes. Its okay, the map is mostly to give you a big picture of the school's layout. Its understandable for anyone to get lost seeing how giant this campus is." She replied, understanding the feelings going through Kouji's mind. She learned the feelings and felt empathy for any new students transferring to this school.
She grabbed her bag and caressed the fur of the little sleeping kitten Pokemon to gently wake it up, picking up the Skitty in her arms as Gatomon moved to stand by her leg. Strapping the bag behind her, she looked to Kouji. "Kouji, once you receive your schedule could you follow me down the hall? I need to show you this one room in this office before we start our tour."
A Simple Tour Turned into a Lot More
Taichi grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. Hikari was right, as always. He’d barely skimmed the letter. All he’d really gotten from it is that no matter what, Koromon couldn’t talk or digivolve. Besides that, he hadn’t really cared to read it. It was somewhere in his backpack, probably crumpled up or torn.
“Yeah, skimmed it is an overstatement. More like I picked out one paragraph and skimmed that.” He chuckled and said, “It came in the mail, but I was rushing for soccer practice, so I threw it in my backpack. I kinda forgot about it after that.” He shrugged. “I didn’t think it was important. It was from a school, so I figured it was just one of those college brochures or something. Not important, you know?”
Koromon happily bounced up and down next to Tailmon. He was excited to explore the school, as well as to get more food. Not like he’d devoured an entire box of granola bars, half a box of fruit snacks and two bentos in the last hour or anything. Still, that was Koromon. He was always hungry.
“Sure, ’Kari,” he agreed. “I don’t want to delay you from any other big student official stuff or whatever it is you do.” He picked up Koromon and looked quizzically at Hikari’s Skitty. “What in the world is that, ’Kari? A new Digimon?” Koromon turned his attention to the Skitty as well. “Are any of the others here? Yamato and Sora both disappeared after you along with Takeru, and I haven’t seen Ichijouji with Daisuke at all. Did they come here, too?”
Hikari laughed along with her brother, what he explained did seem like a Tai thing to do. "Well its okay Onii-chan, at least you are here now! Its understandable." She said, looking at the bright side.
"Thanks, Tai. But its nothing too important for the school or anything. I just left my bag there." When Taichi picked up Koromon, he seemed to have noticed Hikari's Skitty who was sitting next to her leg. Hikari tilted her head at first, wondering what he meant. "Oh!" She then remembered that Taichi has never met Skitty yet or even seen a Pokemon before.
She kneeled down to gently pat Skitty on her head as she purred happily and then picked her up, cradling the kitten pokemon in her arms. "Its called a Pokemon, Tai. They're the creatures that are native to this land. This one is called a Skitty. I get to take care of her as a sort of assignment for the school. Which reminds me that you need to pick up your own egg." Hikari smiled and walked past Taichi, over to a door at the end of the hall of the main office. "Since we are still here, we might as well pick it up now. My stuff can wait until later."
As they walked through the door, Hikari answered Taichi's question. "Yes, they are all here, except I don't see them too often. We are all very busy with our own things most of the time." Her voice withered to a little sadder tone towards the end. It would have been nice for them to see each other more often.
They entered the room to find it filled with shelves, all displaying many different colors of Pokemon eggs. "This is the school's Pokemon egg nursery." She said, closing the door behind them. "Pick whichever egg you want, Onii-chan. I'll explain everything later since someone did not read a certain letter thoroughly." She teasingly said.
Just Doing the Job (Hikari/Kouji)
Kouji walked down the hallways, until he finally found the main office and a girl with a digimon and a pokemon next to her. He guessed that the girl was there to give him a tour, after all, she seemed as if she had been waiting for someone.
He stared at her, analyzing her. She seemed to be… what? A sophomore? Probably about fifteen years old, one year older that him. He noticed that her hair was short, around her neck, so he guessed that she had cut it recently or it just wouldn’t grow longer. He almost chuckled when he noticed the length of his hair. Most girls in his past school would be jealous of him for it.
“Yo,” he said, gaining the brunette’s attention, “Are you the one that’s giving me the tour or are you just in the way?” he asked, trying his best not to sound rude but failing miserably.
He stared at the girl once more and sighed, he should really work on his people skills. “I’m sorry,” he started, “The name’s Minamoto Kouji, freshman.”
"Huh?" Hikari's head whipped around and looked up after hearing a sudden voice that caught her attention. She was met with a boy with long, dark black hair under a bandana.
Gatomon scurried off of Hikari's lap when she got out of her seat to formally greet the boy. She smiled and nodded at his question. She dismissed the apology, seeing no need for him to apologize. "It's okay. But yes, I'm here to show you around campus."
"It's nice to meet you Kouji and welcome to Evolute Academy. My name's Yagami Hikari." She kept her smile and eye contact, reaching her arm out for a handshake.
"You can pick up your schedule from the clerk at the desk. And here!" She turned to grab something from her bag and handed Kouji a brochure. "I hope this will help, its a map of the school." Hikari learned to keep those on hand due to previous encounters with new students.
Just Doing the Job (Hikari/Kouji)
Thankfully for Hikari, there was a few chairs for any students that had to wait in the front office. She sat patiently, keeping her back close to her side, and let Gatomon rest at her lap. Hikari was waiting in the office because she was once again asked to offer a tour around campus to a new student. She gladly accepted it because she thought it was a good deed and it was fun. She could make a new friend and it was one of her duties as student government vice president.
Hikari smiled down at the chair to her right, at a sleeping little pink kitten Pokemon. It was the Skitty that hatched from the egg she had received from the school. She gently rubbed the Gatomon's fur and her eyes gazed to the door, hoping the new student found their way to the office alright.
The New Kid (Open)
Hikari frantically ran through campus with a urgent and worried look on her face. Her backpack was rustling because of the contents inside. Gatomon opened the backpack from the inside and looked at her partner with concern. “Calm down Kari. What could possibly go wrong?” Gatomon then looked back inside. “Kari, can I come out, its really crowded every since I needed to share this spot.” She said referring to the kitten pokemon, skitty who was resting inside the bag as well.
Hikari continued to run and her eyes fluttered everyone. “Sure Gatomon. But I really need to find this new student before he gets lost.” Gatomon smiled and went on her shoulder. Hikari, as vice president of student council, was asked to show a new student around the school and now, she had to find him quickly. Hikari brought her pacing to a halt when she landed at the courtyard and scanned the area. It wasn’t very busy and her eyes spotted a boy who was also looking at the scenery. She took a deep breath and approached him with a smile. “Hello. Um excuse me, but by any chance are you a new student a the school?” She held out her hand. “I’m Hikari by the way.”
Kouichi turned his head to see a girl, roughly his age, smiling at him and holding out her hand, “Hello. Um excuse me, but by any chance are you a new student a the school? I’m Hikari by the way.” He smiled and shook her hand, replying “Yeah, and I’m Kouichi. It’s nice to meet you.”
Hikari was delighted when Kouichi accepted her friendly hand shake. "Its nice to meet you too." She let go and broke the hand shake and turned to rummage through her bag. A face brightened when she fished out the right thing and offered it to Kouichi. "Here you go Kouichi, It's a map of the school. It would help you, especially when I show you around campus." To be polite, she kept her smile and eye contact. " You did want a tour, right? Is now a good time to go?"
The New Kid (Open)
Kouichi nervously walked on to the school ground, his bag at his side. He glanced around, the letter sad someone would be there to give Him a tour. Kouichi suddenly wished his brother, Kouji, had come with him, He would have known what to do. Kouichi sighed, and started wandering around the courtyard, hopefully he’d find the dorms or classrooms or someone who knew where anything was.
Hikari frantically ran through campus with a urgent and worried look on her face. Her backpack was rustling because of the contents inside. Gatomon opened the backpack from the inside and looked at her partner with concern. "Calm down Kari. What could possibly go wrong?" Gatomon then looked back inside. A Simple Tour Turned into a Lot More
Koromon grinned and his stomach growled—not that he had much of one. He looked up at Gatomon with ruby red eyes. His ears twitched and he looked around, before whispering, “Where’s the cafeteria? I’m starved!”
Taichi rolled his eyes at his partner. He turned back to Hikari and remembered back to the time he’d woken up only to find her gone. He was furious with his parents for weeks after that. He hadn’t even been allowed to say goodbye!
Taichi blinked. Was Hikari some sort of student official? He shrugged, and grinned at her. “Evolute Academy…this is kinda a big school. Not what we’re used to back in Odaiba, huh?” he asked. He cleared his throat and continued, “Yeah, I got the quick version from the letter, something about Koromon not being allowed to talk, and that’s pretty much all I got. I didn’t really read it.”
Hikari nodded. "Yes, it is a different from back home. The school is very big when it comes to all the facilities it provides. But you get used to it over time." She said. She has been on campus for almost a year now. She was there ever since the middle of summer when she received a letter from the Academy asking her to be the first of the digidestined to come and set up for the year.
Hikari let out a breathe and rolled her eyes. "You skimmed it lightly didn't you? Well, at least you know some of the basics." Hikari expected that much from her older brother. "I'm surprised you finally got the letter. What took you so long? You were planned to come much earlier. Was there a problem with the mail? Or did you just not check your mail?" Hikari questioned.
Gatomon looked down at the in-training digimon and sighed. "Like I expected that." She shook her head sadly in shame. "The cafeteria is a few buildings over from here. Past the library. I'm sure we'll go there when Kari shows Tai where it is." She replied, looking up to Hikari to confirm her speculation.
Hikari giggled and nodded with a smile. "Sure! We can go over to the cafe and grab a snack." Hikari looked at the clock mounted on the wall and the smile was close to faded. "I need to get a few things in the library first though. Is that okay with you, Onii-chan?" She asked. She wanted to grab her papers she left in her office.
A Simple Tour Turned into a Lot More
Taichi turned, a smile immediately spreading across his face. After so long away from Hikari, he was glad to see her again. Koromon was in his arms, munching on a granola bar, and his backpack was lazily shrugged over his shoulder.
“Hikari!” he cried, running forward and wrapping her in a one armed hug. “Imouto! I missed you. I’d wondered where Okaa-san had sent you off to…”
Koromon recognized Hikari immediately and jumped out of Taichi’s arms, attaching to her face. It was unusual for him, but he’d missed Hikari. It wasn’t the same at home without her. Once he had given her a kiss, he let go off her face, he hit the ground and bounced over to Gatomon. It grinned, though said nothing. Taichi had warned him not to.
When the older boy turned, Hikari was overjoyed at who it was and her smile grew ten-folds. Taichi run up to her and Hikari gladly gave him a hug as the two siblings were bound in a warm embrace. "I missed you to, Onii-chan!"
She continued to smile when the hug died down and her vision was immediately blocked by the digimon that clasped onto her face. Hikari stayed calm about it until Koromon let go, dropping to the ground. Hikari giggled at his sign of affection. "Hi, Koromon. It's great to see you too."
Koromon landed next to Gatomon. "Hey, Koromon." Gatomon noticed the grin and gave a smug smile. "You okay?" she said, checking how he was after that hard impact.
Hikari looked up to her older brother, not letting go of the smile she wore. "I would have never guessed you were the new student." She remembered Taichi mentioning something about their mother and replied. "Yeah, it sure was hard leaving home and hiding that letter from you. I'm really sorry about not telling you before."
She heard a forced cough in the background. Taking note of it, Hikari found it to be one of the clerks behind the desk trying to get her attention and focus back. Hikari figured what they were thinking and scratched the back of her head as she gave a weak laugh. "I guess I should be doing what I came here to do and do my job."
She brought her attention back to Taichi and looked up. "Welcome to Evolute Academy. Are you ready for your tour, Onii-chan?" she said getting straight to the point. "I'm guessing I also need to give you some explanations, like why we are here, as well."
A Simple Tour Turned into a Lot More
courage-into-wings started following you
Hikari usually spent her free time inside her student office. The little office that was in the staff hallways in the library located between the news press room and student council meeting room so that she could have easy access to the two organizations she took charge in. She was busy with paperwork and planning until a knock on the door captured the attention of Hikari and both Gatomon and her Skitty. They both looked up to see it was one of he administrators and Hikari got up quickly to greet him and see what was wrong.
After hearing his news, Hikari nodded with a smile and grabbed her things, having Gatomon and Skitty follow her out the door. It was that moment in time when she had to give a tour around the school to the new student attending who was waiting at the main office. It was just another simple tour that Kari enjoyed doing.
She tried to make a good impression to the new student by wearing a welcoming smile as she entered the office but stopped immediately when she noticed the familiar bush of brown hair. "Taichi?!"
Winter time at a school ((Open))
Takeru was excited knowing he was going to spend more time with Hikari, they had to make up for lost time. After all it had been too long since they had seen one another.
He then frowned when he learned about what was the fate of his little egg. He only liked to fight when he had to, he didn’t really see the reasoning behind it, maybe it was to have them battle ready for a disaster. “So your telling me little egg buddy has to fight…I don’t see why, is there in every trying to take the world of the pokemon?” He asked not grasping the point of battling.
“I’m sure everyone will come, surely Taichi will be leading the pack.” He said with a smile.
Hikari joined her friend in disappointment and frowned too. "I'm don't like it any more than you, T.K, but its something we have to do." She thought for something that would make him feel at least a little better about it. "They said that Pokemon like to grow bonds with their trainers as well as strive to become stronger. You want your Pokemon to be happy, right T.K?"
Hikari couldn't help but smile at T.K's words and his own smile. "And I can't wait until that day comes, Its a great thing to look forward to." Hikari took one last piece of muffin and then pushed it towards the two kitties, letting them finish it up. "So, once we all finish here, should we call it a night?" She asked, looking up at T.K.
Winter time at a school ((Open))
“Well then it looks like I have someone to spend time with when I write.” He said with a big grin. “And what kind of test do we have to take? Do you have to teach the Pokemon some sort of talent to baffle the professors?” He asked not entirely sure what they wanted to do with their pokemon partners.
But we went back to the opic of Yamato. “Well we are hoping to spend lunch together soon so we can catch up. He was meeting with someone when we met up and I was settling in so we really haven’t had much time to catch up.”
Hikari was very happy that Takeru wanted to spend time with her. Even when and while both of them were doing work. She thought it was really sweet of him, wanting her company. At first assuming its because Takeru was a great friend that way.
After hearing that question, Hikari was then hit with the realization that Takeru might have not gotten the information about the test and preceded to explain. "You could say it like that. The test is divided into 3 parts. How friendly your pokemon has grown to you, how healthy your pokemon is and lastly, what Yamato was working at, how skilled your pokemon acts in battle." She placed Skitty on the table next to Gatomon, giving them both another cookie and then brought out a book from her bag. "I'm still trying to understand the basics but what I did get from my time in the library is that Pokemon are able to perform attacks and they battle each other to show their strength. In a sense it is similar to how digimon are." She then slid the book across the table to show Takeru. It was a book she found on information of all the different Pokemon and their moves they can learn, giving a description of each attack.
Hikari let out a small giggle. "I think I know who that someone was." She had a big hunch that it was Rika who Yamato meeting up with. She has seen him around with that girl a lot and was pretty sure they were really close. "But anyways, that's great you two made plans. Now I can't wait until Taichi and everyone else comes too." It was great having Takeru here with her now, but she still long awaited the day where the whole gang were here spending time together as a group like before. She missed them all and their company. Especially her brother.
Winter time at a school ((Open))
“Well there is nothing wrong with letting people read that which you write. Plus it will give me something to do with my time.” He took a bite of his fritter and gave patamon a pat on the head. “And I’m sure we can spend our time doing our work together, its always easier when you have someone to talk too.” He said with a wink.
Takeru then listened to her list of places to hide out and write. Looks like he got it right the first time. But working with Hikari would also be very nice. She then mentioned his brother and he gave her a wide smile. “We did see each other when I got in last night. But then he had to run off to train.”
"I can agree with that." She said with a light giggle. Hikari loved being in the company of her friends. It gave the atmosphere so much more life.
"That's great." She said and continued to smile. "Oh. Training. I remember spotting Yamato with that little blue puppy pokemon. I almost forgot about that part of the test." she said, her tone showing a bit of disappointment as she looked down at Skitty on her lap. "I still haven't tried the whole battling concept with Skitty." Pokemon battling was so much different than when Digimon fought against each other. Instead of them turning into data and being reborn, the Pokemon would actually gain physical damage from attacks, and the "trainer" had to command what the Pokemon should do. Hikari wasn't quite sure about causing harm and hurt to others.
She forced herself to bring up another smile to lighten the mood. She smiled at T.K as she took another small piece from her muffin. "It must be great to be able to spend much more time with Yamato now." But, this just brought her into remembering something else that touched her emotions. "And I think its about time for me to call home as well." She has been at the Academy for a while and missed her family a lot. "So, did you guys get to talk for a little while? You two should really plan on some time to hang out and spend time together. Brother Bonding?"
Winter time at a school ((Open))
“Well that is a good idea actually. I can write, get people to read my work, and get to make new friends.” He said with a slight smile. Then she was gone again wrapped up in whatever it is she was doing. She wouldn’t be her if she didn’t get wrapped up in her work. Passion, if it was a crest it might replace her crest of light.
“I see, so its safe to assume people come here often.” He said with small smile. “Looks like I’ll have to find another quiet place to hide when I feel like writing.”
Hikari smiled, knowing that her friend liked her idea. "Really? You think its a good idea? Would you be willing to do it then, T.K? I hope I'm not asking too much from you."
"The courtyard sounds like the best place for you currently. You know, when the weather is cooler than as it is now." She said when she thought about some quiet places on campus. The cafeteria and student lounge was noisy at most times and there were usually athletes practicing in the sports field areas. "You could also try the library."
"Or you could always accompany me in the student office. It would be nice to have company once in a while, while I'm doing my work." She said in a soft voice. The little office she was given in the staff hallways of the library was very cozy and quiet since not many people other than her had authorization their. It was in the middle of the new press room and the student council meeting room, so she had easy access to both of the organizations she was in charge of.
She was about to open her mouth to suggest the rooftop hangout on Main Building A but decided against it, not wanting to disturb its "usual visitors". That thought caused her to ask a question that reminded her about something. "That reminds me, did you get to see Yamato yet?"
